Just how crazy is the 7 Dwarves line by 9:15?

I can't score a FP to 7 Dwarves the morning of our first day at MK, but am hoping for that to be our first ride. I don't want everyone to have to run like mad to get there, so let's say we roll up at 9:15 or 9:20. Obviously lines vary by day, but on a Monday "moderate" crowd level day next month (4/18),
how long do you think the wait will be by that time?

We do have a FP for it another day at MK, but the grandparents won't be with us then so ideally we'd all ride together first thing. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are! Thanks :)

60 minutes to 90 minutes alot depends on whether there is EMH that morning for resort guests, either way Ill be there with you, thats the Monday after the Inaugural Star Wars Dark Side 1/2 Marathon.

That's a coincidence! :) No EMH that day. Think the wait will still be 60 minutes + at 9:15?

Maybe you don't run like mad, but if possible get to the park when it first opens to avoid any horrible waits. My Mom and I got there 30 minutes after the park opened and it was an hour wait. Now, my Mom can't walk very fast so we didn't run there, but even though it was the top of our list, we had a long wait. On the positive end, there line seemed to be constantly moving.

If you're there slightly before rope drop, you can walk at a normal pace and it won't be too bad. I wouldn't dawdle, stop for Starbucks, or take pictures in front of the castle, but you don't have to "run like mad" either.

You could also schedule a breakfast there before park open and then mosey over after you're done. (this of course depends on your budget and time flexibility, etc)

Would bet it's no less than 45 minutes at best but no longer than 80-90 minutes, I guess you pick your poison, we generally will work our way through adventure over to frontierland and hit Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Splash, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion without too much of a wait, and hit 7DMT at parade or much later in the evening knowing there will be a wait. Im hopeful that that Monday after the Half Marathon weekend will be slower..which is why we opted to stay a couple days after the races vs trying to them the Saturday and Sunday after running.

There's no chance it has a 45 minute wait 15 minutes after the park opens. That doesn't even make mathematical sense.

Not sure why it doesn't make sense, I've seen it during the week of 13-17 December 2015 be 45 minutes within minutes of park opening with EMH in the morning.
The OP stated that this is not an EMH day.

Think about how Disney measures wait times. They hand you a red card when you walk in the ride and then scan it when you board. If the rope drops at 9:00, the first person isn't getting there until 9:05, meaning the most anyone can have waited by 9:15 is ten minutes. Anything more and it's just Disney artificially posting high wait times to steer guests to other, less popular attractions.

We had bfast at The Crystal Palace on a non-EMH day. The park was opening at 9:00 a.m. When we were leaving the restaurant at 8:45. the CMs were already up MSUSA at at the hub with the masses. We joined in and walked right to the 7DMT. We were one of the first ones on the attraction. When we got off there was already a 45 minute wait.

I understand the process, but also understand what I've seen 1st hand or wouldn't have posted what I did. Regardless if the time was inflated or not the wait time will in all probability fall inside those parameters, I'll also have the benefit of being there that morning so I we'll know soon enough how accurate it was.

Like others have said, I would expect a 30-60 minute wait if you are not there at rope drop. One thing you can do between now and then is check the wait times on your MDE app at the 9:20 time frame and it should give a good idea of wait times. I wouldn't give any thought to slow, moderate, or heavy crowd days because they are all going be heavy. With record crowds and spring break being in full effect just expect high traffic and you will be fine.

Maybe I'm misreading the OP. I read it as if she is going to be at rope drop but will just be walking slowly to get from Main Street back to Fantasyland, which is why she said 9:15. If she's not even arriving at the Magic Kingdom until 9:15, I definitely agree with the hour long wait that you and @sgtmgd are describing.

That's not always accurate. Disney posts fake wait times early in the morning.

Yep- that's correct- we will arrive at rope drop (well before) and be poised to hustle on over to the attraction. We just won't be able to really run a). because I hate the thought of yelling at the kids to move, move, move! their first day there, ever and b) we'll have my in-laws with us who aren't the speediest. I guess we'll do our best and if the line is longer than 20-25 minutes, we'll just ride it another time. If I knew that definitely wasn't a possibility we'd just not even walk there to begin with. That's my dilemma....do we even go check it out if a wait that short isn't possible at that time?

Nobody actually runs if the cast members are doing their job. It's not literally a rope "drop" where they let you in and you sprint. It's a slow walk back.

Seriously, you'll be fine. You'll probably walk right on.

Nope I misread the OP. I was thinking she was getting there 15 to 20 minutes after open. With an easy stroll back there I would still expect 20-30 minutes.

As for the wait times, I would expect that they inflate them to accommodate the immediate rush of the park opening but that does not mean that they are not accurate. The workers should know by looking at where the end of the line is at how long the wait time is give or take 5 to 10 minutes. From my experience the wait times posted are pretty accurate barring any events that empty people into the parks (parade ending, fireworks ending, shows ending (HS or AK)) or the un-cleared red card that causes a bad time to post.

I've been watching it and checking it first thing in the morning and it's usually pretty booked soon after the park opens.
