I'm SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! My cousin is a proffessional photographer, so he got me a FREE copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0! It is working on my computer, surprisingly, and I love what I know about it...so far! Just to let you all know, I will probably be asking some questions and posting some of my work just to see what you all think! Just thought I'd let you know!:D :D :D :sohappy:

layers... how to explain

when you do a painting in real life and you discover halfway through that you messed up something underneath, you have to start over...

in photoshop, if you mess up something underneath, and its on a separate layer, you can fix it with no hassles.

Exactly, if you put every element on a diffrent layer you can customize it alone. Not effecting the other elements. Allowing more versablity. Etc Etc.

Layers, as well as all of the other functions of photoshop are all covered in the manual you obtained with your legal copy of the program. (even free copies come with documentation..providing it was obtained via a lawfull medium).

Oh. I forgot to mention! It is a Buissness Licensed version, so they buy the software and give it to thier workers for free! He was, somehow, able to get me that. So, for those of you who think I got this Illegaly, I did't. I am a legal owner of this software!:D

Not unless you work for the company that bought the license to use the software. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if have it legally or illegally. I just didn't want you to be under the impression that you had a licensed copy of the software if you didn't work for the company.

Take Care,

Elements, is a stripped down version of Photoshop. Stay with Photoshop and upgrade to v7.0 for $150 :)

Or atleast I think it was licensed to them. I had to register it on the Adobe website thought. It is registered under my name, not the photo studio's, so hmm...

It might have come bundled with a consumer level scanner or digital camera or something. I’m not sure about Elements but I ended up with at copy of Adobe PhotoDeluxe that way several years back and all it came with was a PDF manual… Which should probably be on the disk you have for Elements as well though you will probably have to open the disk through Windows Explorer or “My Computer” to find it.
