Just got cast at WDW Disney Reservations Center!

Hello everybody,
My name is Erwin I'm a long-time forum stalker and just created my account today. I'm interested in following my dream of being a cast member at Walt Disney World. I just thought I'd ask for some advice before attempting the application process. I currently work as a call center representative for a major airline in Houston, TX. I have family in the Tampa Bay area, which would give me a place to stay until I can get settled in on my own. I'm well aware that it would be a long commute but it's worth it to me. I know that I'm without a doubt qualified for the role as I am consistently recognized for my outstanding customer service and people skills. I'd just like some advice on how I should tackle the cover letter? Is there anything in particular that Disney looks for in the application, resume, and cover letter? Also, since I'll be in Tampa for a few months will it disqualify me from a job offer? I do have reliable transportation and am very familiar with how to get there. Would you recommend that I attach my customer service compliments and achievements along with my resume? Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Have a magical day!

As long as you have transportation to and from Disney, they won't really care about it. they have call centers in Tampa for Disney though. I have personally never done a cover letter for Disney. They like professional looking resume's and it is always good to list that you have worked with customer service issues. There isn't anything they look for really, maybe other than experience. I do believe they still do a personality test when you apply for jobs, pass that and you'll be ready to schedule an interview. At the interview, I do suggest wearing business clothes, sounds like a given but I have seen people show up in jeans before. Good Luck!

The fact you live in tampa wouldn't be an issue, I had a co-worker during my cp that commuted from jacksonville

Thanks for sharing. I still have to move from Houston but that can be done in a day or two. I don't have much of anything. Just waiting for a call for an interview and I'll be set. :D

I've been looking everywhere and can't find any information (or out-dated) on this subject. I'm curious of how the park passes work, and hotel discounts?
1. From what I understand, Disney employees can enter with their ID as many times as they'd like throughout the year but are restricted from Fast Pass?
2. I'm curious on how the family passes work?
3. Is it unlimited?
4. How many family members can you bring?
5. If I did decide to purchase an Annual Pass, is there a CM discount?
6. I'm assuming parking is free?
7. How much is the hotel discount, and what dates are restricted?

Also, any other information will be very helpful as well.

1. Not true, you can get fastpasses.
2. They are going to change this soon because of the whole new Magic Experience but for now you get a card with however many dependents you have (normal is you plus 3 guests) and you go in with the parks with them to spend the day. I will warn you, Disney is cutting down on people selling their passes etc or signing people in and not being in the parks with them so you have to be committed to being with your guests the whole time at Disney.
3. Full/Part time is 16 entrances for your family/friends but they do have blockout dates which can be found on the hub. Seasonal is only 6.
4. Normal limit is 3 people plus yourself.
5. Yes, but there is no reason to other than wanting a water park pass to get in all year but we do get limited times of free access and then discounts the rest of the time.
6. Your Id= free parking.
7. Depends on the time of year, it can be found on the hub for more details under cast room discounts. IT varies by month and availability but we do get a pretty good discount. You can also get your family a discount on rooms if they come to stay down here, if you stay with them the discount is more though.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! Based on your info, these benefits are going to be even better than I thought. Is it the same 3 people all year? Or do I get to take 3 one visit and 3 another time, ect...? I'll be working Full Time at the Tampa Disney Reservations Center, I have my second interview on August 6th, I'm stoked! :D
What exactly is Disney looking for in an interview aside from the obvious? I've been trying to surround myself with Disney music and movies lately to get in the Disney mood and hopefully be bursting at the seams with pixie dust when I walk in there for my interview lol.

Haha no you can take any 3 people you want every time. I don't know if it is the same for Reservations so check with someone once you start working because I bet you'll get the job! Disney is just looking for reliable workers who know somewhat of Disney and can follow their rules. Being in reservations, you'll probably have to know about the parks and what to suggest to someone. Good luck!

Thanks. From what I understood on the interview it sounds about the same. They categorize reservations as Full Time cast members. I know I can be reliable and as an Annual Passholder and member of WDWmagic, I have the park knowledge down too. Thanks for the luck, I'll need it. :)

Great advice, but please tell me the jeans part is a joke.

Haha I will leave my jeans in Texas for this one. I'm a few hours away from my flight to Tampa for my interview on Tuesday at the Tampa reservations office. I'm getting nervous, not going to lie.
