Just Got Back From Orlando

Season's Greetings, everyone...

Just got back from a 5 day trip to Orlando, having arrived on Mr. Disney's 100th Brithday, Wednesday December 5th.

In a nutshell, I have to say that the MK, EPCOT and Disney-MGM Studios were about the same, crowd-wise, as when I went the first week in December 2000.

My Friends and I got to do and see everything we planned on.

After arriving and settling in at our hotel, we went to EPCOT for the day. My favorite new ride was "Test Track" and at nights end, we really enjoyed the "Illumnations, ROE", and of course the holiday decorations.

On Thursday, we went to Universal Studios. There were NO crowds at all, and we were able to simply walk straight up to most rides with little or no wait.

That evening we went to the MVMCP at the MK and enjoyed seeing the festivities, though we did think the decorations on back-drop for the Christmas photo looked like an ameteur threw it together... very ordinary, by Disney standards... Wonder if the photo comes in holiday-style folder ??

On our full day (Saturday) at the MK, it rained a bit on the Share A Dream Come True Parade, which gave the snow globes a different look, with rain drops on them. Nice parade, though.
And also enjoyed the "Spectromagic" Parade and the evening fireworks show.

We tried out the Hoop Dee Doo Review, and enjoyed that a lot.

I came home very tired from the walking, but very happy to have gone.

Did you go to MVMCP last year too? Was wondering if it's possible to get a lot of rides in at that time, as well as the parade and shows. (Planning a trip, and the Christmas Party might be my only MK visit.)

Hi Meg!
I went to the party last year and this year. We were able to see all but 1 show, and we watched the fireworks from Liberty square. We tried to schedule the shows so we would not miss any, and the one at Tomorrowland Theater was the same as lastyear. We were able to get to ride Haunted Mansion, and see Country Bears, but that was all. I guess you have to figure out which is mostimportant to you. The Character greetings were lots of fun too! I love those!:)

Hi Megara,

No, this was my first MVMCP, and my friends and I got there late, so we missed the earlier parade and got stuck by the monorail station when the Fireworks went off...They don't allow the monorail to run at that time...We had to make do watching it from there.

I agree with Tig, in that you have to figure out what is most important to you to do. By the time we got there (about 9:15PM), we had time to ride 4 rides, see the 10:45 PM Parade(which was a repeat of the parade we missed earlier), get our hot chocolate and cookies and our souvenir photo, and stroll around the park, enjoying the other activities.

Timing would be everything, if you want to pack in as much as you can out those 5 hours...
