Hi All,
I just recently finished the Fall Advantage 2007 program. It was by far the best experience of my life. I started off as attarctions on the Jungle Cruise. Oh man, was that a place! Then, I auditioned for entertainment and got to be goods friends with Aladdin! It was seriously the best department to work in at Disney. I had so much fun making kids smile everyday of my life! Seriously ask me any questions you have. I'm actually going full time at Disney this December becuase once your in you'll never want to leave trust me! I've made the best friends of my life there and we will be bf's forever. It was amazing. Ok...I'm ready for questions! I know it all!

Well I actually had my interview earlier today for the Spring Adv. '08. I want to get in soooooo bad. I told the interviewer how much I loved Disney and how all my career goals point to Disney, lol. I told her that my dream has always been to work there and be a part of Disney, and at the end of the interview she said "I hope we can make all your dreams come true...". That was really reassuring. I also put a very very stong emphasis on working @ Tower of Terror, which she told me if there is an opening they will try to put me there(fingers crossed!!). Honestly, I'm not going to be picky about where I work in WDW, I just want to be there. So, here's some questions....

How was transportation, or did you bring your own?

Was it easy to get started working or did you feel at all nervous or timid?

Apparently it was easy for you to network, but how easy is it to truly "prove" yourself to them so that they know you are serious about working there and don't want to do anything but work at Disney?

That's it for now, I might come up with a few more.

Oh yea, how long did it take for your acceptance letter? LOL I want it already!

I have a question, how did you audition for entertainment while you were still on the program? I did the spring advantage and my managers told me I had to finish my program before I could even audition for entertainment. How did you pull that off?

Some ANSWERS

1) How was transportation, or did you bring your own?

Transportation was a pain in the butt for most people who used it. I would totally reccomend taking your car as I did....Made the program so much better....Didn't have to leave the compleaxes an hour before work just to get there it in Time....Bring your car!

2)Was it easy to get started working or did you feel at all nervous or timid?

Well. I thought it was going to be really hard. Especially because I was on the Jungle which is scripted.........12 Pages! But you definitley work your way into it! Its easy once you start! As for entertainment that was very nerve racking seeing as before this I wasn't an entertainer but again it just comes naturally! You'll do fine! Like with anything you'll have nerves but they'll go away!

3)Apparently it was easy for you to network, but how easy is it to truly "prove" yourself to them so that they know you are serious about working there and don't want to do anything but work at Disney?

Well, they have many oppurtunities for you to network...And as long as you show your area and managers your desire to do a great job you'll be great.....You can even set up meetings to talk to them! There are so many oppurtunities post CP! My dream was exactly the same as yours so good luck!

How long did it take for your acceptance letter? LOL I want it already

It took about three weeks!

Well. I was on the Spring Program so I did the CP audition for March which was open to Spring CP's. I extended into Advantage so that's why I was able to audition. My real program ended in May! Spring Advantage CP's were not aloowed to Audition til July!

I'm on my program right now and have a comment on the transportation issue. I have my car here but I still use the bus most of the time. Yes it is nice to drive in and out of work so you don't have to deal with the mob of people getting on the bus at the end of the night but you buy more gas. My dad filled up my tank the day after I moved in and I didn't have to get gas for two weeks when I was taking the bus every day and driving my car to get groceries or other shopping. But one week I drove to work 3 times and did the same running I'd done before plus 2 trips to the airport and had to get gas in about a week. So it really depends on what is important to you. I know to drive when there are special cast things at my park (parade preview and stuff) and I plan to drive when I get off work at midnight and have to be back at 9:15 but other than that I'd rather leave early and have extra money to spend.

Hey to each their own.....but everyone that didnt have a car on my program regretted it! Having a car puts you in control not busses.......which are late half the time. Plus you can make beach trips, Universal trips etc... ASnd go to the parks whenever you want without checking a bus schedule. The gas is expensive but it is everywhere! Trust me way easier to drive!

If it becomes a really serious issue then I can always ask my family to bring a car for me on their next visit to WDW(we live in Miami). I'm hoping I've got great roommates that won't mind sharing.... lol. (I'll help pay for gas, of course)

Just bring your car to start off with...it makes things easier. And if you are like me, and all of your roommates come from the other end of the country...you are the most popular guy in the room!

But I was one who did have my car, but still took the buses.

oh I miss my CP, but I am FT now :)

The only thing stopping me from bringing my car is the required additional maitenence(it's a '92 explorer), such as leaking fluids and other problems that arise. I'd rather be stuck riding buses than stuck paying for more repairs. Also, I would love to work full-time after my CP, but will they hire you right after your program? If it's possible, I would like to finish the CP, get hired full-time, and finish my AA at an Orlando community college. Of course, dreams don't always come true. LOL Anyways, my goal is to tranfer to UCF after completing my AA so I'll be there soon even if I don't get hired full-time right away.
