Just decided on dates for next trip!

We had a little down time this morning while our DD was at Sunday school, so my DW and I got talking about our next trip. Since I can be very flexible with dates and number of days off of work our trips are based around my DWs work schedule, and getting her to figure out what days work for her is usually like pulling teeth. But it looks like our next trip is going to be Feb 19-27!

We are hoping that most or all of the cheer groups will be gone by then, as they were everywhere when we were at WDW in early Feb 2013. Also after the LONG and COLD winter that we have had here in Wisconsin this year it will be great to thaw out for a bit during winter!

My DW and I have decided not to tell our DD about the trip at all and just let her be totally surprised when we walk down to the DME and arrive at WDW. Also another surprise for our DD is that my parents are going to join us for a bit, my parents are going to leave in January and "winter" in Florida this year.

It looks like we are going to be able to book our plane tickets in about 3 weeks, so that way we are committed to going!

Sounds wonderful but remember that February Vacation for many schools on the East Coast is during part of your visit....vacation is usually the week of President's day so it will overlap at the beginning of your trip including your weekend. I love when parents keep the trip a secret until kids find themselves at DME....fun for all. Where are you planning to stay? :cat:

Last years trip there were LOTS of cheer groups all over and I swear that 1/2 of Louisiana was at WDW with all the LSU apparel we saw, Mardi Gras was going on and we were told that alot of schools are off then.

My DW works with suppliers and subcontractors in China and during Chinese New Year she can take as much time off as she wants without having to use up any vacation days. Next year Chinese New Year is February 19th so thats why those dates work for us. We had friends that were there Feb 14-22 this year and they were surprised how "small" the crowds were, so we are hoping for the same thing. But we will just deal with whatever the crowds are, it will still be considered a "slow" time of year.

We are planning on staying at AoA in a family suite.

Not only the cheer groups, but the foreign tour groups were there! LOTS of them! But it is a nice time to visit and your right, getting away in the winter like that (we do it) certainly helps ease those winter blahs.
