Just booked spur of the moment trip

The family is already going down in July, but I needed to get away for a few days, so I booked a solo trip to Universal for 3 nights for next month. Got a great AP rate at Royal Pacific. Tried to talk my wife into coming with and leaving the kids with their grandmother for a few days, but she won't do it. Life's too short. I've been feeling incredibly depressed with the awful weather we've had in the northeast this winter. I want to go to my happy place for a few days and have some fun.

Yay! I can't believe she doesn't want to go!!!! IDK how you northerners live in that cold mess! We're going next weekend just overnight then June (kidless) for 5- seems like the days are going by so slowly- but at least I'm warm. Have a fantastic trip!

Good for you Kidd!
I totally get the way you are feeling. Winter has got us all in a bad way this year. Of all the hotels in Universal, we enjoy Royal Pacific the most. Go relax, recharge and unwind!

That's the idea. See, I love Disney, but I have a tough time doing that solo anymore. Universal is perfect for me solo. I'll run around like a 14 year old between the Hulk and Dragon Challenge and have a blast. I'll eat dinner at the bar at the Hard Rock. I'll go have a few drinks and sing with the band at Rising Star. I can't wait!

We like Jake's American Bar for a few drinks. It's usually pretty quiet and the bartenders are very pleasant. Hardrock is good, you always know what your going to get there.

Have fun! I'll (hopefully) be making a day trip to just Islands of Adventure during this month. I just need to get AP, then I could easily take the 1 1/2 hour drive down to Universal whenever I want!

Sadly, I had to cancel the trip.:( I suffer from GAD, and it's been under control for the past couple of years, but I've suffered 2 panic attacks in the last week. There's simply no way I could get on a plane by myself right now. Oh well - Only 100 days until the family vacation.
