I just booked our flights for Feb 19-Feb 28. Our travel agent gave us prices for Delta, MSP to MCO for $379/person round trip, MSP is about a 2.5 hr drive for us and is the closest large airport. I then asked her if she could check to see what American was out of the local regional airport which is only a 20 min drive from our house, LSE to ORD--then 2 hr layover--then ORD to MCO was $313/person round trip! Plus I have a buddy that lives only about a mile from the airport so he will come over and get my truck and take it back to his house while we are gone.

My parents are wintering in FL next year and are going to come to WDW for part of the trip, for that part we are going to do a AoA family suite and the rest of the trip we will just do a standard room but now just to decide which resort. So once my parents get things sorted out on their end, the number of days and dates, we will book the rest of our trip.

That is great! Booking the airfare is just as exciting and relieving as booking the trip... it feels so real!

I just booked our airfare today for Nov 12-18!! $159 round trip per person nonstop to and from MCO. I was amazed at the low price... The total for 3 of us came to $479 round trip! A deal like that will be gone by tomorrow so I was not passing it up! Disney here we come!!!!

WOW that is a heck of a price! I am guessing that you must be flying from a major airport. Our prices here are always more expensive since we are kinda in the middle of no where, MSP is about 2.5hrs from us and ORD is about 6.5 hrs, so $313 per ticket for us is dirt cheap! When we went to WDW last year tickets for about the same time frame and out of the same airport was around $520 per ticket.

Yeah, I think it depends on the airport more than just the size of the city. For instance, Delta had a monopoly on flying here in Memphis. Anytime another carrier would try to come in they would undercut the new carrier and run them off. Then they'd jack the prices back up.

So glad they're gone. It would be roughly $1200 for the four of us to fly from Memphis to Orlando, and that's with Southwest.

I despise you folks with your low airfare.... :devilish:

How far is Memphis from Orlando by car? We are like 17 hours from there, to far to drive. Well I could drive but that would be less days at Disney :( If not for airfare (or a shorter drive) I would go twice a year at least. Maybe when the kids move out the wife and I can do that. Two to fly is much more reasonable than 4 for us budget wise.

I despise those who live near Orlando!

Well except for the fact that I can not imagine ever living anywhere but Texas. Who knows maybe when I retire I can move to Florida. That's 20 years form now so who know what will be going on then, we could have those Jetson cars by then and zooming to Florida from Texas would be 2 hours or something. Or a Star Trek transporter right to Disney :)
