Just booked DVC through RCI, What should I expect?

Just booked a DVC resort through RCI. I would love to find out from those who have done this what to expect. Is the magic band process, Magical Express, Dining plan, etc all the same? What are the limitations? What are some of the things that I need to look out for. What do I miss out on that a DVC owner gets? How soon can I start working with the resort? Please anyone with info, help me out.
