Just back from DLR...

Hey guys...I just got back from DLR last night and I have some news for you.

First, and this may be old news, ToT is running all three drop chutes. There were even people in front of the queue. I inquired around and it seems that the attraction hasn't made the Imagineering/Park hand-off yet but it's VERY close. Now they're having Imagineers and contractors test it out. Looks great.

Second, our first day at the park we were just about to turn toward the parking structure when I saw a flat-bed truck carrying chunks of Vekoma track. The track was almost identical to the stuff you see on California Screamin' but this track was painted dark gray and obviously brand new. That conbimed with the "Relaunching in 2005" notice for SM makes me think that they're going to do a DLP re-fit of DLR's SM. This certainly wasn't the same track they used to have at SM so is there any word on this stuff? Thanks in advance. TTFN.

Hon, last thing I heard it was still going to be just replacing the track. They don't have the budget to do the DLP redo.

As long as they fix the soundtrack in the cars I'll be thrilled!

What day were you at DCA?? I was there on Thurs, and I saw them all standing outside ToT too, when when I came out of the 12:30 Aladdin.

The track layout itself for Space is staying the same, but the type of track may be different - I haven't heard either way on that. But yes, Space is the only coaster that couold be for right now - glad to hear things are moving along well!

OMG!!! Kirsten, you and I were at the same show. That's when I saw the people standing outside the Tower. Wild. Were you on the Mezzanine too? I'm sure the SM thing is just wishful thinking but, seeing as how they're obviously dumping a TON of money into refurbsa around the park, maybe they're adding some extra to the SM budget. :lookaroun

LMAO! Wweeeeeeird! I have a photo of Tower I took as I came out of that show at http://xfkirsten.fotopic.net but I can't remember if you can see the people in the photo. I was in balcony, cause I got to the park like 2 minutes before show time. Wasn't my HotNewAladdin working that day, though.
