We finally arrived at our resort, Wilderness Lodge, around 5:00 or so yesterday evening. Check-in went relatively smoothly and we had very nice, personable cast member to assist us. We're not quite crazy about the location of our room (basically out the middle of nowhere facing outwards toward the villas, but it'll do......we won't spend much time there anyway. After getting ourselves settled in, we took the launch over to the Magic Kingdom which we stayed at up until closing time. For a very busy weekend, which it was, we still managed to get on the majority of things we wanted to: Buzz, Space Mtn, Haunted Mansion, PoTc (although the first time we went to it, it was down for "technical difficulties"), TTA (although it too had some kind of outage for roughly an hour before we got to ride it), Mickey's Philharmagic, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Since this was our first trip to WDW since all the New Fantasyland construction was announced, I have to say so far I'm very impresssed with what I was able to see. I don't know why I was surprised, but seeing the 7 Dwarves Mine Train so close to Pooh and so forth made me realize how little room they actually have for the project. I guess looking at the project site from Google Maps made it look a little more spaced out. We did have a quick-service dinner at Cosmic Ray's - as seems to be our usual custom on our day of arrival visit to the parks, and I was glad to see another dessert offering besides the carrot cake and fudge cake. Several of us got the mango gelato, which was actually very good. I think word needs to get out to do an updating on Sonny Eclipse's programming. Right now we're all getting ourselves ready to start our first full day, beginning with a trip over to Animal Kingdom and a lunch later on at T-Rex.
