Jungle Cruise Captain

Hello Everyone...This is my first thread, and I was wondering about what jobs i may consider while I plan to do the college program. If anything it would be the Jungle Cruise skipper. Does any of you know anyone who did this role, im wondering what the pros and cons are with this job. Basically if they like it or not. Id appreciate the comments. Radio

I'm pretty sure you can do anything within operations (attractions). The only problem is you may not be a Jungle Cruise Skipper because of availability. It is best to have an open mind in case you don't get what you want.

I'm considering the College Program also. I'm going to a meeting for it at school next month. Check out wdwcollegeprogram.com for a plethora of information regarding the program and a schedule of college presentations.

I know a few people who were Skippers on their CP. One of my good friends is still one now as a Seasonal CM. You can PM me some questions and I can see in my friend can answer any.

Thank you all very much for replying. I have a question. When i interview, and they ask me what job i would like, would it be a good idea to stress that this is somthing i would really like to do, after all, this is what they are wanting to know, right?

Well, the thing is that the person interviewing you is going to ask you to list three general catagories that you would be interested in. You can certainly note Operations to be your first, but even if you get it there are by no means any sort of guarentee that you will be working at the Jungle Cruise. Especially because your recruiter has nothing to do with placing you outside of the general catagories. You may get Operations but end up doing Parking.

Hello! I'll be willing to answer any questions you have--I'm currently a Jungle Cruise Skipper . (BTW, we're not Captains because Captains go down with their boat! )

The pros:
FUN JOB!!!
Seeing a lot of people.
Making people smile.
Joking around all day.

The Cons:
No air conditioning (not even in the Jungle Break room)
Dealing with hecklers
Getting stuck on the river occasionally (Blame the "Millie")
