June Trip

Ok, so we WERE going to go next January......but then we realized that we've gone in June the last 2 years in a row, and I have NO idea why we aren't going in June this year! SO, we are!

We've arrived on the Sunday immediately following Gay Day the last two times, and that week was pretty much the perfect time to go: they're not crowded and are still giving out discounts and deals.

Anyway, I've tried to track it on the threads, but give up. Can anyone fill me in on what rides, attractions or night shows may be down the first couple weeks in June?

I think it's a little early to know that info, except for the attractions that are already down for the long term due to a major change (like AE).

Last year we went in June and, if I remember correctly, June's schedule wasn't posted on Disney until around the beginning of May. But then, they were still trying to recover from the slump in the tourist industry.

Yeah, I noticed on their site that they have April's schedule posted already, so maybe they're 2 months ahead this year! That would be handy.

How about May? Is it worth going in the last part of May? I mean, do the parks stay open long enough, and do they run the night shows?

We went the last week of May last year. All of the nighttime shows were running. The only rehab we ran into was Pooh which was a little disappointing but we'll catch it soon as we are arriving on June 7 this year.

What did surprise me though was the number of kids. We went just after Memorial Day assuming most people wouldn't pull their kids out of school just before it ended. Come to find out Florida schools get out right before Memorial Day so it was more crowded than I expected.

I'm anxiously awaiting the posting of June hours so I can plan my days and make my PS arrangements.

Well, perhaps we'll see you there then, since we're arriving on june 6. Know where you're staying yet?

Well as it's our 10th wedding anniversay we are going all out and staying at the Polynesian. I've wanted to stay there since my first trip to WDW in the late 70s. We'll be there for six days and then leave on the 13th for the 4-day cruise. It's costing a fortune but it's for a special occasion. I'm sure next year we'll be back to the value resorts.

After 6 nights in the Poly, you may be back to the Cardboard Box after that, HAHA!

Well, have a wonderful anniversary trip anyway! :-)

I won't go bashing Gay Day on here, because, apparently, you can get in serious trouble - BUT I think it's nice for families and others (who may be uncomfortable with it) to know when it is.

I always check http://www.gayday.com before we plan our vacation. This year the site says:

"Countdown to Gay Day 2004 (It all starts June 3, but the BIG day is Saturday, June 5, 2004)"

We have arrived on that Sunday, the day after, the last 2 years in a row. It is really a great time of year to go, because the parks are starting to open later and run the night shows more often, but at the same time they're still giving significant discounts on the resorts.

It's been a while since I last posted on here.....

I was about to ask the same question about any rehabs going on in June. We have planned a trip from the 23 to July 2. I can't wait till we head off!

Wasn't there some website that gave out rehab information? I would rather check on those sites than continue to ask on the forums (People can get quite annoyed by this. I've already experienced it on another forum).

Pushy pushy, HAHA, Just kidding!

This would be a great link to bookmark: http://allearsnet.com/tp/rehabs.htm

Heck, bookmark her whole site! www.wdwig.com

Also, you can check right on Disney's site for the generic responses. Once you get into the Parks Section, there is a little calendar icon in the upper right - somewhere....click it.

This is my first time posting, I am going to wdw on june 7th for my honeymoon, and as with the rest of the people on this post, I have been religiously checking the rehab schedules and so far it looks like these are the ones being fixed up:
-Snow White's Scary Adventures will not be operating April 19 - May 21, 2004.
-"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure will not be operating May 3 - June 30, 2004.
-Dinosaur will not be operating April 19 - June 1, 2004.
I'm sure everyone already knows this but I thought I'd give it a shot. Also, its good to hear that this is a good week to go, because its my finace's first time to wdw since she was 8(shes 24 now)so I want her to see everything that she can:D

Ok our travel dates have changed for the last time~ My Grand Gathering Group of 12 is arriving June 4th- June 13th. Hopefully the crowds from the first week will thin out after the 5th and we will miss Grad Nights and all that. We are keeping fingers crossed for some Eride nights!

Our group will be staying at Pop Century...where is everyone else staying???

Oh yeah, Look for the crazy lady with the "Disney Dictator" shirt on and that will be me! ;)
