Approaching the 60 day mark for our trip June 2-9 (and we just paid it off, so I'm starting to get pumped!), so I thought I'd throw our plans out there for any input and recommendations. This will be our family's 5th trip to the world, and we'll be celebrating our 15 year anniversary.
After originally planning to take a trip without the kids back in January (our actual anniversary), we just decided we'd rather enjoy WDW with the young'uns - they're only young for a little while!
So, on June 2 the wife, DD14, DD3, and I will hit the road for a 6 hour drive to our happy place! Right now we have 5-day park hoppers, but will likely add another day, and are also considering the water park and more option. We're finally getting to the point where we feel like we've experienced the parks enough that we can slow down a bit and just enjoy being there. Our last trip was late Aug 2012, but other than that our trips have all been during Nov/Oct. We're a bit nervous about going during June, but we know what we're doing at this point, so I think we'll be able to handle the crowds. Here's the plan so far:
Day 1 - travel to WDW, likely arrive early to mid afternoon and check in to our studio at BCV. We planned to just take it easy and do DTD, but are really considering adding a park day so we can hit MK as our first park (there's nothing like seeing the castle first thing!). We have an ADR for dinner at Ohana, and plan to watch Wishes from the Poly beach after.
Day 2 - Rope drop at DHS until mid-afternoon, then head back to the resort, followed by a stroll into the World Showcase where we have an ADR for Via Napoli.
Day 3 - AK in the morning, then over to Epcot after lunch. Probably try to do a few favorites in Future World, and then a late dinner res at Rose and Crown, hoping to watch Illuminations as we finish.
Day 4 - Rope drop at MK. ADR for BOG dinner, followed by Wishes.
Day 5 - Resort day. The plan right now is for breakfast at Kona, followed by some time at Stormalong Bay. My parents are driving up from their vacation in Daytona to watch the kids for us that evening while we have a nice romantic dinner at Flying Fish.
Day 6 - Pre-rope drop ADR for breakfast at Crystal Palace, followed by a day in MK. We're also considering some time at DHS for SWW this day.
Day 7 - Probably Epcot, but may also decide to do SWW this day instead...no ADR's for this day, but thinking about trying a walk-up at The Wave (DD14's favorite).
Day 8 - Breakfast at Boma (another favorite), followed by either DTD or more time in a park (if we don't use the added park day on Day 1) before I drag my wife kicking and screaming out the gates...
A few questions - we're thinking about adding the WP and more option so I can take DD14 to one of the water parks on Day 5. We've never done a water park, so any suggestions as to which park?
Any recommendations for which day to try SWW? We're not really looking to do autographs or meet and greets, but would love to see Hyperspace Hoopla and maybe the parade, so we're probably just going to arrive in the afternoon either Fri or Sat. Anyone else have experience in early June? I've heard that schools in general are letting out earlier this year than in the past, but we're hoping to beat the biggest crowds...Now, to start saving up our spending $$!
