June 6-10 trip

My kids and I are taking a Disney cruise on June 10-14th with our extended family. My husband cannot go. Am I crazy to fly early to Orlando to get a few days in with the kids at WDW. They will be 8 and 9. Any suggestions? I’m thinking about staying at one if the POP resorts and taking an Uber to the parks.
