Hello all,
Just doing a little pre-trip report and wanted to know everyone's thoughts on my current plans and reservations. I hadn't been posting as much due to Disney depression. I did not see a trip in my future for a while, but just couldn't make it any longer! We are set to arrive at Saratoga Springs on June 3rd and stay until the 10th. The party will consist of myself (22), Kayla (23), and my two buddies Chris (22) and Brian (22). I may add pictures from last year's trip to give a visual. Kayla and I are staying the full time from the 3rd to the 10th. Chris and Brian are staying from the 3rd to 7th and are going primarily to golf. I am guessing they may change their minds and come to the parks for at least one night.

We have a one bedroom at Saratoga the whole week. We hoped to split it up 4 nights at SSR and 3 nights at another DVC resort, but due to our last minute booking were unlucky. I was actually shocked how booked DVC was this early in June. There were not any studio's available anywhere and we were only able to get a one bedroom the whole time. Last May we were able to book two months out and able to split between WL and AKL. However, I am still really excited to explore SSR since it is a resort I have yet to go to. If anyone wants to recommend a particular area they liked it would be greatly appreciated.
I plan to explore and try as many new things as possible this trip. I have previously been to Disney close to 30 times, but lately have developed a habit of not trying new things. One of my biggest goals for the trip is to be open-minded and try restaurants that I have a negative bias towards. ( for example: Nine dragons). Feel free to add any input on my ADR's or any suggestions! We really like to try new things, but also really value restaurants that have at least a few healthy options. I also normally stick to a very strict agenda of which parks to attend in the AM and PM, but this time I want to wing it more and see how I enjoy my more laid-back Disney vacation.
June 3rd: We should arrive to the resort via magical express around 1ish. We plan to explore the resort and head to downtown Disney for drinks and dinner. Kayla and I are toying with the idea of going to MK that night for a few hours, but will probably just decide that night. I also have to remember that SSR is pretty far from MK and it will make the commute longer.
4th: We have a dining reservation for all four of us at 10 am for 1900 park fair. I figured I had to do at least one character meal and breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day. After that Kayla and I will probably go to DHS for a few hours and then walk to Epcot for EMH. Normally I avoid EMH, but figured it could be fun to walk around and get drinks. ( Feel free to suggest your favorite drinks around the world )
We would definitely be interested in figuring out an ADR in either DHS or one of the local resorts for that day. We are thinking of possibly going to the big river brewing company . They don’t take reservations and I don't know too much about the restaurant, but it seems they have a good menu for all four of us.
5th: As of now we have no idea's except that Kayla really wanted to try nine dragons (first time). She thought the menu had a lot of rather healthy options and is decently priced. I agreed to give it a try. We made that reservation for 6:30.
6th: As of now we think we are going to AKL in the morning and then DHS at night. Are there any quick breakfast places at AKL that anyone recommends? I have yet to find a good place and am not a big fan of tusker house anymore. We have a reservation at Mama Melrose at 7:15. This is by far my most anticipated dinner of every trip and has become a must do. Since this is Chris and Brian's last night I think we will most likely meet them at downtown Disney for drinks.
7th: In the morning we are making the commute to AKL to go to Boma. This is my overall favorite meal of the whole trip. I love the breakfast buffet and the omelet maker. During my previous two trips to AKL I made sure to go here at least three or four times. It will be hard only going once, but at least I will get one morning. After this we just plan to use the resort and go to a park at night. We would also likely make a dining ADR somewhere, but am unsure of where to go.
8th: As of now all we know is Epcot in the afternoon and Tutto italia at 5:45
9th: Animal Kingdom in the AM and Yak & Yeti (New!) - 12:30
At night we will probably go to MK and I would defintely be interested in trying an ADR in the monorail loop. (Possibly Kona?)
10th: Most likely we will just use the resort and downtown Disney before our flight. Our flight isn't til later at night and will leave us with a solid day.
If anyone has any suggestions of a romantic, and budget friendly idea for a night feel free to add that too.
