Are you going to cancel your subscription to Disney+ when they raise the rates on December 8th and add advertising breaks?
Probably not. I have not been paying attention. I signed up for a three year subscription when it first started.

I think for us it will be a matter of with or without commercials.

What is the non commercial rate going to be VS the with commercials rate?

No, BUT I want to see how the advertisements work before deciding which plan to get. If advertisements are at the beginning only, I will get the ad based one. If they are scattered throughout, I will cough up the change to get the ad-free for the family.

Is it possible to do month-by-month with one plan, then the other, then making a decision for the yearly plan?

I don't see why you couldn't do that since you can pay month to month. The main downside is you would lose the years sub "discount" over those two months.

The reality is though that if you have a 3 year plan from the onset, it would be expiring in mid November before the price increase. If you have any inclination to continue the service, it would make a lot of sense to renew the ad free for 1 year in Nov before the price increase - then you would get the maximal amount of time at the current "lower" price. You'd get a year of ad free for $80 (instead of the future $110/year for ad free) which would be the with ads cost starting in December.

Coincidently today is my last day with D+. I used it for all it was worth during my 3 month trial for a 1.99 each month. The final drop will be Werewolf by Night.

I might. It will all depend on how Andor ends. If I'm impressed then I'll keep it. That said, if the ad tier is obnoxious, then I'm out all together. At that point I'll wait for 3 or 4 things I want see then sign back up with no ads, then cancel when I'm done. Then lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm done with D+ until they have a couple of shows.

Besides I need to catchup on my other streaming services. I like to get my money's worth and let the episodes store up, while I'm using another Streamer. This way you have way more content when you come back. There's really no reason to pay the money and wait around each week.

Binge baby Binge!

Probably what I'll wind up doing but waiting to see if they have any other good offers when my subscription expires.

I won't pay their premium no-ads price and I won't pay what they're asking for the service with ads. If I couldn't get that year rate mentioned above with no ads locked in, I'd let the subscription go and just get a month now and then to catch up with the Marvel stuff.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
