July 4th Fireworks at WDW

Is there a difference between the Celebrate America fireworks show in MK that's happening throughout the week and the fireworks show that's actually on Independence Day? I'd rather not brave the MK crowds that day if I can see the show another day!

I think I overheard somewhere that the shows on the 3rd and the 4th will be the full blown shows and the remaining 5 dates will be cut down a bit, but I would take that with a big sack of salt. If you want to avoid the crowds head to the beach between the Poly and the TTC. It is a great view and far less crowded.

My mom's bent on being IN one of the parks, so I guess we'll see. Thanks though!

We do July 3 at MK and the 4th at Epcot. The illuminations 4th is amazing. Plus, HS has fireworks about 5 minutes later which are easily scene from many locations in epcot. That is the plan we have followed in the past and will do so this week.

I am thinking of trying to see the fireworks from the Poly beach as well, do you know if they play the music for the fireworks in that area and if so what exact area in the beach ?

At the Poly beach they pipe in the music from the show around the pool area but for July 3rd & 4th they also have the barges from the Electrical Water Pageant out on the lagoon. The barges show the stars and flags sequencing and also play the soundtrack of the fireworks show.

As I understand it, the July 3rd and 4th shows will continue as normal to be the full show including the mirror launch location in Seven Seas lagoon as well as full 360 degree perimeter sequences. The remaining days will not include the mirror launch from the lagoon and those sequences that would be 360 degrees in the full show will be only 180 degrees around the north half of MK. Everything launched within the park boundaries around the castle should be the same in both scenarios.

I don't know how they're doing the week-long thing.

I do know that I'd heard for many years how great the MK fireworks were on the 4th. Finally went to see them and was very underwhelmed. The music isn't typical 4th music and sometimes it is lame. The bursts in the sky weren't much better than a typical Wishes, IMO.

Not bringing this up to whine, just to let other people know, so they might not be as disappointed as I was.

They do play the music all over the beach, but it tends to be the loudest around the pool. However, the best viewing location is right next to the TTC.
