I was wondering if anyone has any info as to what will happen at Disneyland on its actual 50th anniversary? Will the public be able buy a ticket that day, or will it be open to only certain guests? Any other info about special parades/ceremonies would be much appreciated.

Thanks

We are planning our trip for very close around this time. I'm afraid it's going to be crazy that day. Plus, I think if I saw Uncle Mikey, I'd have to hurt him! LOL Julie Andrews would be awesome though!

I was wondering the same thing. I went to Disney.com and the special Disneyland 50th Anniversary site and there is no mention of what is happening July 17. Does anyone know if there is a schedule of events posted somewhere on the web?

I don't know if I did a good thing or bad thing. This is our first trip to Disneyland after almost 28 years of trips to WDW. We booked the West Coast Disney Cruise for July 9 and then we are going to DL on the 16th through the 19th. When we planned the trip, we weren't aware of the significance of the July 17th date. I guess I wasn't paying attention. :hammer: On one hand I am excited about being there for the big day, but also a little worried that the events and crowds will prevent us from enjoying DL for the first time. If you read the Discussion Boards at MiceAge there is an entire thread about the 17th and it sounds like it is gonna be tough to do anything but stand in the middle of Main Street and watch the festivities.

Any info about that day would be greatly appreciated.
