Journey Imagination

Personally, I hope they shut it down and design an attraction that has the Disney quality we all enjoy. I rode JIYA when it reopened and thought it was horrible. Evidently others agree with me because the park was at capacity and there was no wait time at all to get on the ride.

Here's the thing I still don't understand, the old ride was detailed, great song, and long... why didn't they just leave the old ride if they couldn't afford to make an equally great, long and wonderful attraction? Seems like someone said we have to get rid of the old ride no matter what, even though Disney apparently couldn't afford to do so at the time, and the customers basically got screwed two or three times... no upstairs, no good attraction, and the great old attraction forever gone.

Disney didn't have a choice in the matter, if they wanted to keep a sponsor. In the contract between Disney and Kodak, there was an agreement to build a new attraction in 2000 (I guess in the early 80's they figured that JII would be outdated and in need of a replacement...guess they were wrong). Disney had no choice, but to do what was in the contract. Kodak also approved of the plans for the new ride, so it isn't entirely Disney's fault (actually it could really be more of a Kodak fault).
