Is it just me or is it only a matter of time before John Lasseter becomes CEO of the Walt Disney Company. I mean no disrespect to Iger, I think he is doing a great job, but in 10 or 15 years does it not seem likely that Lasseter will take over?

John Lasseter has such a Walt Disney vibe to him that I can't imagine a better match. If it something that he wishes to pursue then I can't think of too many people that would try to stand in the way.

There is a big difference between being a guy that comes up with great ideas and a guy that has to run one of the largest companies in the world. I really don't think that you are going to see him as CEO at any point in the future. Even with all the comparisons he gets to Walt...remember walt was a creator too and not a business man. If he didn't have Roy to really run the operations of the company he probably wouldn't have fallen apart.

Lasseter may not be the right man for CEO. And even if he were, I think it would be a waste.

No, Lasseter needs to be the creative genius. The man with the instinctive feel for what his audience likes. And to whom the top of the Disney corporation puts a listening ear.

There have been Pixar movies that I adored, and some that I thought were only so-so. However, none have ever given me a distinctive disliking of them, quite the contrary. Even if Lasseter is not infallible, his decisions seldom rub me in completely the wrong way.

Unlike Disney, of which I loathe half the movies and park stuff released and build or implemented over the last fifteen years. So Lasseter could be just the right man at the right place to reverse this. Now all he needs is to carry enough cloud with the Disney top - and I believe that Iger trusts him very much.

It would be a tragic loss for the theme park and animation divisions if he were to become CEO. The CEO is so removed from the daily operations and creativity - and immersed in business decisions - that his talent and mind would be completely wasted.

The next CEO needs to be selected carefully. But that's a whole other discussion :p

Exactly! To run Disney there must be a proper yin and yang. Walt and Roy, Eisner and Wells, Lasseter and ????

Either way, if Lasseter were in power with a good Roy like person at his side, I think Disney could see a huge rebirth.

Lasseter and Iger?

Seriously, right now on the Company wide executive side? Perfect. I think thanks to Pixar and John Lasseter, and Bob Iger's smart thinking, we are entering a new dawn for the Disney Adventure!
