John Hiatt, Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt Contribute To Disney Soundtrack

(Launch.com) -- Singer-songwriter John Hiatt has contributed several songs to the soundtrack for the upcom-ing Disney film The Country Bears, a collection that also features Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, and Men At Work's Colin Hay, among others. The soundtrack is due out July 23. Hiatt penned seven of the album's 14 tracks. Hiatt, Henley, Raitt, and Hay all lend vocals to the Hiatt-penned track "Straight To The Heart Of Love," while Raitt and Henley duet on "Can Love Stand The Test," another one by Hiatt. Other songs on the album include "I'm Only In It For The Honey" by the Brian Setzer '68 Comeback Special, "Bear Mountain Hop" by Bela Fleck with Flecktones bassist Victor Wooten, "Friends" by Elton John, and the classic "So You Want To Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star" by the Byrds. The film The Country Bears is loosely based on Disney's theme-park attraction the Country Bear Jamboree, and it opens in theaters on July 26.
