Job security?

I have a character audition coming up soon. I plan to quit my current job if I can work for Disney full-time.

The job I have right now is pretty secure. My question is how secure Disney is? I've heard some people say they lay off a lot of people during slower seasons. I'd like to stay there for a long time, most likely a few years at least.

Does anyone here know a realistic figure of how "safe" Disney is? I know some people who have been there for years, and then there's others who say they "know someone" who got laid off.

Thanks for the help! :)

A friend of mine was "friends with chip and dale" and was part time and he had a hard time finding jobs at times. He spent a lot of times searching for open positions on the cast portal doing extra hours. This is also mainly due to him being part time, but if you get a full time job, I'm sure you would not get laid off for NOTHING. Other than that, that is is the only info I have on that position. Maybe someone else will be able to offer more.

My advice would not quit your job firts. Make sure you get it first, then if you do talk to them about what position you have and hours. What height are you?

Yeah I definately won't quit my current job until I'm sure I have the job at Disney and it's a job I want.

I'm not exactly sure, but my height is around 5'9". I may be 5'8" or 5'10". My friend who is a character says they measured him at a couple inches taller than he really is.

Most of the layoffs that you hear about are middle and upper management. Most (if not all) of the hourly workers are covered by some form of union contract (sometimes called a collective bargaining agreement).
