I had a very interesting Casting Center experience recently. My interview was this past Monday and it was (from my end) a very smooth and impressive interview. I was asked why I wanted to work at Disney and what attractions I was scared of. I was then told what my responsibilities were going to be and if I was going to be able to accomplish this. I agreed. Then I was asked about my tattoo on my wrist and if I was willing to cover it up. I told my interviewer that I was. Two options were given, wearing an armored long sleeve shirt (clings to the wrist) or makeup. I choose the makeup option.
I was told to come back Tuesday with the makeup over my tattoo to see if it could be covered up. Before I left I asked my interviewer if the makeup does not work can I switch my option to the shirt because I really was looking forward to working for the company. Unfortunately, when I went to the store I quickly found how expensive it was and did not have the funds to buy it. I went back Tuesday to switch my option.
I was then told the shirt is no longer an option because Disney recently just changed their views on shirts and it has to be makeup. I told her then I will make it work with the makeup. She told me to come in Wednesday with the makeup on. I asked her, "If the makeup works, do I have the job?" She replied, yes. I was very excited...and told everyone family and friends.
Went into Casting for the third time this week, Wednesday, and showed her with Dermablend on my wrist covering my tattoo completely. She was very pleased that it worked. However, she then told me that I was put on the waitlist (I applied for attractions). I was confused because she told me I had the job and now I feel like I don't. I called Casting today (Friday) because I wanted to thank her over the phone and ask the casting center if I could mail her a thank you note. While I was on the phone with casting, the lady offered to check to see if I was on the waitlist and I was not. My question is what are your views concerning this? I don't know what to think because Disney is my life, I have always dreamed of having a career at Disney and I feel like my dreams were just crushed.
