I was thrilled when Casting offered me a job at WDW today as an Entertainment Stage Technician. I was less than thrilled when I found out the hourly wage. The Casting Agent made a hard sell on overtime and promotion. My questions for you are:
1. Is overtime as easy to get as the casting agent implied? I would want to work 6-10 hours of overtime per week if possible.
2. Are promotions (i.e. higher paying jobs) usually available within 6 months to one year after onboarding? I would like to get back up to (at least) my current salary level sooner rather than later.
I really, REALLY want to take this job, but the pay cut from my current job would be significant. I see Disney as having a much higher career ceiling because of their child companies, but obviously, I'm having to start from the bottom.
