Jiko, how is the lamb?

Visiting Jiko for the first time and wanted suggestions from folks who ate there recently. I saw they have lamb loin so was curious about that and the duck.

We went last night and the lamb dish was a lamb two ways. I believe our server said it was two chops and a braised shoulder. Sorry, I didn't order it, but it's not currently the loin. For what it's worth, I've loved every lamb preparation I've ever had there.

I love lamb! That said I wasn't a big fan of the curry rubbed Lamb loin at Jiko, too spicy for my taste and I'm not sure what they have for lamb on the menu at this time. For what it's worth I enjoyed the lamb shank at Kouzzina and loved the twin lamb porterhouse at Shula's. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the update! May I ask, what did you get, how was it? Also any apps that stood out?

Like Steve said, you really can't go wrong with anything at Jiko. I loved the short ribs, and my husband said that the monkfish he had there was even better than the one he'd had at Victoria and Albert's two nights before. Their flatbreads and soups are always wonderful as well.

One Little Spark...
I've had the duck and the sirloin. The duck was fantastic. The sirloin was decent, but I'd skip it in the future for something else.

One thing to note...that is a MUST GET!

GET THE BOAR APPETIZER!

Don't ask why, just do it. You won't regret it!

Haven't dined at Jiko's yet, but if you like lamb, by all means AVOID Restaurant Marrakesh in World Showcase. One of the worst-tasting and worst-LOOKING meals I have ever had. Bleahhh....

Haven't had lamb at Jiko's, but I have had it at nearby Sanaa, and it was delicious, despite my mother commenting that her grandfather used to work at a butcher's. "Lambs cry just like babies!" (Really, mom? Are you REALLY going to bring that up as I'm eating?)

I'm going to do this. Silly plate btw, but I'll try the boar.
To the OP, the lamb is awesome @ Jiko. Then again, everything I've had there has been perfect.

My husband has ordered 2 separate lamb dishes at Jiko.

This is from June 2011...Grilled-marinated Lamb Loin with Chickpea and Chorizo, Spicy Swiss Chard, and Apple Cider Reduction

This is from January of this year...curry-rubbed lamb loin with cauliflower puree, eggplant-artichoke Zaalouk and olive-walnut tapenade

He declared both of these dishes "the best thing I've ever eaten!" :D So I'd say he liked them.

You can't go wrong at Jiko, it's fantastic!

Never had a bad our unacceptable anything at Jiko's. Dine there every year - place not to be missed.
That said -- I'm sure there is someone out there who just hates the place.......
