Jiko Dress Code

I heard that you are supposed to dress nicely when dining at Jiko. We were planning to go there after spending the day at Animal Kingdom and probably wouldn't look all that nice if we showed up there for dinner. Could someone clarify what the dress code is?

The dress code at Jiko is Business Casual, although Disney's idea of business casual isn't really that bad. You just can't wear T-shirts, flip flops, hats or tank tops.

From allears:

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Business Casual! No hats, swim suits, swim suit coveralls, tank tops, T-shirts, torn clothing or flip-flops. You can wear - dress shorts, pants, jean pants, collared shirts, blouses, sweaters, pants.

Restaurants now requiring Business Casual include: Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge), California Grill (Contemporary), Citricos and Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), and Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club).

For the most part people are sticking to this, but I have seen some who were not reminded and asked to change and then others escorted to out of the way tables.

I guess as long as you don't look like a bum you will be fine.

These seem like strict rules to me. I can understand wanting to create a certain kind of atmosphere but even my very respectful dressy dresses have spaghetti straps and I certainly have dress clothes that might be considered tank tops. It's going to be in the heat of August. I'm certainly not wearing a suit.

Wear your dress and take a very light sweater (I have a lacy one) that covers the straps. You may need something anyway in the a/c.

Jiko is awesome. We really enjoyed it when we went. The spaghetti straps on a dress would be fine. They just don't want men wearing sleeveless tops.

Any other resturants have a dress code?

All signature restaurants are business casual and Victoria & Albert's is formal.

Restaurants now requiring Business Casual include: Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge), California Grill (Contemporary), Citricos and Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), and Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club).
