JetBlue Schedule was extended today...

...through June 18, 2014.

For those traveling from upstate NY, the morning direct flight to Orlando from Syracuse, which was eliminated several months ago, is BACK on the schedule! I booked us for our May trip right away. (The alternative was Southwest out of Rochester, but their schedules for the rest of April - June won't be released until October 14th. Although I look forward to flying Southwest oneday, JetBlue was cheaper than Southwest's current prices (especially assuming a purchase of Early Bird check-in) AND we get to choose our seats instead of fretting over getting separated by a bad boarding position. It's really ideal when traveling with family.) Plus, 2 of the 6 of us are flying free thanks to points on my Jetblue Amex card. If you subtract the annual fee of the card for the past 2 years I've been building up points and the $10 per person charge when you use points, we saved about $440, simply by using a particular credit card (and paying it off in full every month). :)

My Mom booked our flights yesterday.:) We got a direct flight from Syracuse to Orlando at 7:00 AM on Monday, May 19 for only $98 per person. We have a connecting flight at JFK on our way back, but that's ok.

Our outgoing direct flights in May were a few dollars more, but we're traveling on a weekend. (It's also possible we missed the first, lowest-priced tier of seating. I didn't get online until 4 hours after the schedule was released.) Still, my daughter and I are flying free on my JetBlue Amex points and the rest of the family is paying a total (including tax and fees) of $284 each for direct flights both ways. As my mother used to say, "you can't beat that with a stick"! :)

I just have a quick question. When we fly into JFK on our way back to Syracuse, do we have to go through Security again or no? I'm confused and yes, I'm a doofus.

You are not a doofus! And no,you shouldn't have to be screened again as long as you're arriving and departing from gates within the same terminal. I believe all JetBlue flights at JFK go to (and leave from) the JetBlue terminal ("T5"), so you shouldn't have to go through security again.

More info. on T5, including shops and restaurants (in case you have a long layover): https://www.jetblue.com/travel/jfk/
