Jessica Capshaw Takes 'Practice'
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) -- Jessica Capshaw ("Minority Report") is poised to join "The Practice" as a series regular when the ABC drama enters its seventh season this fall. She will play Jamie Stringer, a young associate who joins the Boston law firm at the center of producer David E. Kelley's Emmy-winning legal drama. Capshaw next stars in the upcoming Miramax feature "A View From the Top." Her deal is among a handful of talent pacts coming together as broadcast and cable networks prepare their new and returning series. In other ABC casting news: Leslie Stefanson ("Unbreakable," "The General's Daughter") is negotiating to replace Jacqueline McKenzie as the female lead in "Meds," a new ABC drama for this fall. Stefanson will portray a new hospital administrator and adversary to two renegade doctors (William Fichtner and John Hannah). "Meds" is set to air Wednesdays at 10 p.m.
