Jenn at 50's Prime Time

We had dinner last Monday, 8/8 at the 50's Prime Time and were seated at the rear of the room. On one side of us was a family from France who knew little English and seemed to be bewildered by the routine. On the other side were two gentlemen (well, one gentleman and another guy) with two young girls. Our server was cousin Jennifer, or "Jenn".

Jenn went easy on the French couple and made them comfortable. However, one of the guys at the other table was being pretty difficult. He not only sent his meal back to the kitchen once, but twice! The first time he insisted that there was a piece of plastic in the mashed potatos that couldn't be seen (after eating half of it). When Jenn courteously delivered the second entree, he claimed there was a hair in it which no one else could see.

By this time, my wife who was seated next to him, received her identical meal. The guy then complained that my wife had a larger piece of pot roast than he did. Next, he noticed that there was some carmelization of the braising on his pot roast, which he couldn't deal with. So he again asks Jenn to send the meal back, and asks to speak to the chef.

The chef came out and was professional and courteous to him without giving an inch. Jenn wound up suggesting he try another entree, which he did but then "didn't feel like eating". I believe he wasn't charged for any of the three dishes he was served, and the two girls were given some souveniers to compensate.

Throughout all of this, Jenn acted totally professionally without every loosing her good humor. I would have smacked the guy up the side of his head. I just wanted to thank her again for handling this so well and for making our meal delicious and comfortable.

Kudos to Jenn for keeping calm and cool.

Anyone that has seen the movie "Waiting" would think twice about acting up like that at a restaurant!
