Jellyrolls

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jellyrolls is an absolute blast. If you've never took a night to check this place out, do yourself a favor and try it. I went on Saturday night and ended up sitting with a group of about 15 cast members, one of whom had a striking resemblence to Scotty. If any of you are on here, I'm the guy who payed 5 bucks to hear Vienna by Billy Joel and cheered like crazy when Chris played it. Anyway my point is: go to Jellyrolls, it's fun!

Jellyrolls is definetly a blast. Now if they could just make it non-smoking, I might try to lease some space to live there.

Why isn't it non smoking? I thought Florida was a smoke free state?

No such luck. Florida recently passed laws that bar smoking in eating establishments. Those places that receive less than a certain percent of their sales from food (I think it's 15% or so) can still allow smoking indoors. So, in reality, the law covers only restaurants.

I was there Saturday night after having dinner at the Flying Fish. Total blast. First time there and we just wandered in after dinner as everything inthe boardwalk had closed down.

:hurl: No establishment named after a jazz legend should allow ANY Billy Joel tunes. That's just so wrong.

I am not a Billy Joel superfan or anything, but compared to a lot of other stuff coming out of the 70's and 80's he put out a lot of great music, and the song Vienna is a masterpiece(personal opinion of course)

that was my group you were sitting with... i was the one with the shaved brown hair that had been there since opening... not the one with the Clemson shirt on, the other one... thanks for allowing us to use your chairs... i think that was a great song and am glad you had a good time... just out of curiosity, which one of us looked like Scotty??? cause whoever it is would love to know, cause that can only be taken as a compliment!!!

i believe it is one of the best things to do in the whole city of Orlando...

There is a time and a place for Billy Joel. I love "Only the Good Die Young" and "Why Should I Worry?"

But I would expect only great jazz at a place named after the great Jelly Roll Morton -- who came to greatness while living in Chicago.

Take that, Long Island! :p

It was a guy who came in later in the night. He was sitting next to me on the left and he wore glasses. No problem about the chairs. I usually come down with my sister and she's got 3 small kids so she can't ever come with me to JR so I'm stuck going by myself. I'll be down again at the end of October, maybe I'll see you guys there again.

Total bump here, but it was either this or start my own thread.

People have been telling me about Jellyroll for years, but I never went until this trip. What a fun place...it was parent's night out (mom watched all the kids) and we had such a great time! I finally got up the courage to make a request (anything Disney) and they did a great medley of "Zippity-Doo-Da", "Do Re Mi" and "Supercallifragiliciousexpialidocius (sp???)". The whole bar sang along (whatever words we knew) and it was a great moment. Of course they did lots of other stuff and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves.

Also, we had a pretty rowdy group in front of us (remember this is an adult establishment) and the one pianist handled an outburst from them with a lot of class...while I personally had no problem with them (I thought they were just having fun) , the entertainer did (and I understood why) and let them know it...and I thought that was nice, he spoke up and did so in a pretty cool manner.

Fun, fun place...don't let the smoke bother you!

Jelly Rolls is a real gem. It's just a shame it's not easy to get back from to the non Epcot resorts.

A blast. I have a problem. For us, we will get one night out without the kids. I can't decide between the Adventurers Club and Comedy Club at PI, La Nouba, or Jelly Rolls. Any thoughts?

If Jellyrolls was non-smoking, then the people who do choose to smoke would be right outside of the entrance on the boardwalk. Don't really think that Disney wants a smoking section there.
