My family and I were there this year from January 2 - 7th. The crowds weren't bad at all. The 2nd and the 3rd were the most crowded, then it they thinned out. I guess as kids went back to school. It was a little to chilly for me then, but the weather here in Florida can fluctuate so much from year to year.

I would still go again during that part of the year if vacations and all worked out for the family. Anytime at Disney is a wonderful time.:D

The crowds decrease a little... bring a sweater, it is chilly as someone else mentioned -I am glad I am not the only one who freezes in Orlando!-. ;)

I'm with Moose on this one. A lot of other people on here are saying it isn't that crowded but the two weeks before Christmas and up through New Years are the only blackout dates for seasonal passes to WDW during that part of the year. Disney considers the week of christmas-new years to be one of the busiest of the entire year... I know that's not what you want to hear, sorry :(... When I go during this time of year, I usually spend a lot of time watching parades and shows and enjoying the decorations while only braving a few of the lines for attractions... If things stay the way they have been though, it might not be as bad this year.

Well Maria, you come from some place even hotter than here, don't you? ;)...
BTW, how long were you working at Disney? Did you leave because they canceled the program or did that happen after you left?

Being cold in Florida is a laugh to us Northerners. One of my fondest memories of WDW is swimming in the Contemporary's Pool back in 81 and seeing the Lifeguard shivering in a jacket. It must have been at least 60 degrees outside which was a full 40 degrees warmer than home.

Of course it was all of those pesky Canadians fault last year when they brought their cold front with them. It's the first time I have ever regreted leaving my winter coat at home. I don't care if I am from Indiana. Going from 70's to 20's with windchill over two day stinks!

Hehe... it is hotter in Orlando... more humid than here, that´s why I feel it colder when it is cold. ;-)

I worked for 15 months there, and I only left because my visa expired, and that particular visa couldn´t be renewed immediately, I had to wait a year off. Then I had another offer to work there in a hotel starting March ´01, but this time, I had a better job back home that I didn´t feel like leaving for another yearly contract... ;) The program I did was canceled later.

Well, that's a real shame. I know it can't be easy to put your life on hold to go work for a year somewhere thousands of miles from home though. Sound's like everything may have worked out for you anyway. :)

DEC31 -5

It was a family tradition for me to go in that time every year. My parents are HUGE disney fans and their anniversary is Jan2.
I guarantee crowds on the 31. but remember kids go back to school. and people would rather wait for Spring Break to take the kids. Jan 2 till about feb is a great time!

Have fun.:)
