We will be at Disney World from Jan 24-29 with a 4 day park hopper. I want to pick one main park each day to start at, knowing that with little kids we might take a break midday back at the hotel (Shades of Green) and pick a different park for late/afternoon evening if we feel like we got to everything at the morning park.

I'm thinking Magic Kingdom on Thursday, 1/25 because it will probably be the least crowded day. Most likely we'll be there all day (with a short nap time mid-day), including Happily Ever AFter at night. Friday we're doing Animal Kingdom with a late morning reservation at Tusker House for character dining. Saturday I was thinking Hollywood Studios. I'm assuming this will be the most crowded day (some of the crowd predictor charts have it very busy - any reason why?). My kids are big Star Wars fans - is the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular worth staying for? And Sunday we'll do Epcot because we're meeting some extra family for just one day and that's the park they want to do. We'll probably do Illuminations that night. I made a reservation at La Hacienda de San Angel for 6:30. Will we be close to a good spot for Illuminations at 9 or should I try to change that reservation to something else?

Forgive me if I sound clueless. We've only been one other time and the kids were so little that we didn't do a lot of the things we want to try this time.

We thought Star Wars Galactic Spectacular was really cool and well done. Is it comparable to something like HEA? No, but if your kids are into Star Wars, I think they will really enjoy it. My advice would to make HS an afternoon park that day. They will also really enjoy Launch Bay and the M&Gs there.

My trip is 01/18-27!

We will be doing MK (for the Keys to the Kingdom tour) on the 25th with Epcot in the evening. One the 26th we will be at Animal Kingdom until we hop back to MK for the after hours event.

I think the 27th is looking busy because the NFL pro-bowl is that weekend. I think the game is on Sunday so potential for extra folks in the park. Hollywood Studios seems like a good park to be in. I can't speak to the Star Wars show because we haven't seen it yet- so looking forward to it though!

I am not an expert but I think you have plenty of time to find a spot for Illuminations as dinner will take maybe 90min.
I am not sure how old your kids are but Illuminations is not very kids friendly imho. I find it boring and just not worth my time, maybe check it out on YouTube for a few minutes to see if you want to watch the whole thing or try and get some rides in.

We are there from 1/24-1/31. I would do AK on Sat (early EMH) and DHS on Sunday due the same reason.

We are doing DHS on Sunday and AK on Monday (since both are early EMH) because Saturday is our off day.

The only reason the Crowd Calendars have Saturday as busy is because its a weekend. I don't believe there are any events on that weekend.

I would most definitely stay for Star Wars Galactic Spectacular, it is a great show.

I think that the days you have planned are the best days to go.

NFL pro bowl week.......

I'm coming in the day after Pro Bowl weekend comes to an end on the 29th for a two week stay and Most of the time it's just the Cheerleaders & Brazilian Tour Groups...And then the week later it's whoever wins the super bowl has their parade in MK (which you would Definitely want to avoid and go to the other parks that day)..

Not sure if your kids are going to do Jedi Training Academy.. but if you’re planning on it- make sure to arrive BEFORE the park opens. (It’s totally worth it btw!)

Sounds like you have some great plans in place! I enjoyed the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular and if you have fans in your family I think it's worth staying for. Enjoy your trip!

Again I should point out it might be a bit busier due to NFL Pro Bowl Coming to Orlando on Jan 28th and Disney is helping hosting part of it at ESPN Wild World of Sports Jan 24-27. So guests who will be going to the game will be taking the advantage of staying on property during the time it will be happening...
