James Mangold Untitled Star Wars Film

Love the premise. Cautious about the result since I’m nervous about how well Mangold can incorporate the whimsy (can’t think of a better word) of Star Wars. I would hate to see something overly serious like Logan.

He nailed the whimsical with the latest Indiana Jones trailer. Crosses fingers movie has the same magic.

I would like to think that if I ran a studio…I’d wait to see if the last movie a guy made as a hot mess before I give him another potential disaster…

…but Bob has never been wrong…so more of the same 👍🏻

At least Star Wars movies are back on the slate. We'll just have to wait and see the outcomes.
Yeah…i’m 50/50 on that.

On one hand…yeah…they should be

On the other: the same arrogance/defiance is there. Anyone want a character that was intertwined with 3 movies that ended up a disaster?
Yeah…that’s exactly what happened.

I’m sure the actress does…she hasn’t worked since. Jake Lloyd syndrome. Good for her - at least. Not her fault.

Well I'll wait to see how they actually turn out before I start judging them. Maybe its more of the same, or maybe it'll actually be well received this time around.

And I do actually want to see what happens with Rey post-Ep9.

Also Ridley has worked since Ep9, she's has had multiple projects going including 4 this year alone.

She did do Chaos Walking with Spiderman. I haven't seen it. Was it any good? The Bubble was pretty bad.

Well…I hope lessons learned.

Maybe bother with a story instead of printing “the force is a girl” t-shirts for Star Wars con this time? 🙄

…yep…she’s obviously slaying it.

You said she hasn't worked, I'm just letting you know she has. I'm not claiming anything about the success of the work she's done since Ep9, just that she has been working.

Oh I do think she’s worked. Some

You win the literal game today. Onwards and upwards 🚀

And to be clear: I feel bad for her. She at least hasn’t been as vocal/nasty as boyega. They signed up/got paid.

She reminds me of Natalie Portman…a lot. Hopefully she rebounds well. The problem with that character is there really isn’t a character at all. It’s what happens when you do a reboot/remake and try to spin it like a curveball. It puts the performers at a disadvantage.

Same thing as Mary poppins.

I personally think the character has a lot of potential.

That's your opinion.
Just based on my eyes. Doesn’t seem too far out on the limb in this case.
Correct, there is no right or wrong way to be a fan. If you don't like the character and think there is nothing there or no potential, that's fine, as you say to each their own.
I just trust the box office and the product sales…
…you know…here in “mom’s basement”

I wish you good fortune in the “wars to come”
