James Gunn - Suicide Squad

Yea I don't agree, sorry. In my opinion they did not NEED to fire him. I think Gunn will be fine because everyone knows it was wrong to fire him in the first place. You are right people love redemption stories. Disney should have backed their guy and took credit for the fact he's not the same guy from 12yrs ago. If the tweets were on Disneys watch, I would agree with you but Disney hired him well after.

Right. Not every offense requires the death penalty.

if you said what he said in a school or govt job you would be fired, escorted off property and likely prosecuted/arrested. They were beyond a joke.

Awesome. Except he didn't work in a school or in a government job....he is a filmmaker and he was trying to be provocative. Don't try and compare one job to another and what you can and can't do. It's faulty logic.

Guess I'm all alone on this. I thought the two Guardians were the two worst films in the MCU. Certainly won't get me to go watch Suicide Squad.

Everyone has their opinions and it doesn't make you right or wrong. Based on sales and reviews you are wrong about GotG.

Now the sequel...that was bad.

Based on sales, you would be wrong as well.

At any rate, I'm surprised this is still such a sore point for a lot of people on both sides. I kind of saw both sides of it (and as I said, as a non-fan of GoG, had no dog in the fight). DC have a director with some cred in the Super Hero movie genre, which is good. Disney has a lot of directors that could step in (or other movie concepts if they let GoG go), so it's good for them. Honestly, this should be a good ending for both sides.
