Animal Kingdom Day.
Again, we got up early enough to use our early entry hour. Strollers here have the two bucket seats but the shade is not attached on the sides so you can’t put something on the top (found out the hard way as the girls had the backpack crash into their laps). After a brief exploration and some pictures, we beat it to Africa for the Safari. As per Erik’s advice, we got a FP and got in line. Our tour guide was named Patrick. Plenty of animals out and the girls got a kick out of the bridge sequence. Patrick was entertaining but seemed to drive a bit quickly throughout. Made it tough to get some good pics. Did the FP and got right on. Sorry, I did not get the name of our next guide. She drove a bit slower throughout and the picture ops were better. She also seemed to have a soundtrack working that Patrick did not have. From there we went to Dinoland. The kids peeled off to get some character signatures while I hit the McDonalds Fry cart. First Customer of the day. I got FP for Dinosaur while they did the character thing. From there, my oldest daughter and I waited in line for Primeval Whirl. Note to self, eat after not before. From there it was on to Dinosaur. Have to say I loved this ride. Loads of fun. My youngest was a bit unsure, but her triumphant ‘Whooooo’ at the end of the ride made me feel better. Off to see Tarzan Rocks. Pretty decent show. Skating was great and the singers did a good job.
Off to Pizzafari for lunch – CROWDED. I took off to get FP for Tough to be a Bug. Saw it after lunch. Another tough one for Lydia. Not a Hopper Fan. I think the people in front of me used the ‘Stink Bug’ portion of the show to dirty their shorts. Far more stink than we anticipated. Next was the parade. Great show. The kids love this stuff.
From their, dad made the big mistake. Thought we had time prior to Festival of the Lion King for the girls to get Lilo and Stich’s autograph. Had them wait for it while I proceeded to FOLK. Was told that I could not go in and hold seats. By the time the ladies got to me, the show was closed. BIG BEEF time. My one big problem with the overall Disney Experience is the Q-lines. People cut line all the time and crowd in like a funnel. This caused us to miss this show and other things. The other thing is you can hold seats at most every other show, why not here. Anyway, since we were in Camp Minnie Mickey, we did character autographs with Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Mickey. By that time, we were out of time. So we hit the road for the Caribbean. Biggest disappointment was not seeing the Lion King.
Back to get cleaned up a bit for our PS for Chef Mickeys. Good food and plenty of interaction with the characters. We had a special celebration for Sarah’s birthday. She had a great time. From there a bit of shopping in the Contemporary and off to the MK for another Wishes show and the late Spectromagic. Great day. Can it only be Monday?????
