Hey everyone. I got another update, for the first time in what seems like forever. It's no breaking news or anything, but just a few little things I noticed today on my trip to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

So lets start there, at Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom Updates

~In these most recent photos of Everest, you can see a steep incline, and then a steep decline. I believe this is what will power the train through the section up to the lift hill.

~ the second half of the Everest village being construction rather quickly.

~I'm sure this is old news, but this is the first time I have noticed this. Animal Kingdom has a schedule of the rides that will offer fastpass, and on what days. Here is the schedule from now until January 15th.
-Kilimanjaro and Dinosaur- Every day
-Primeval Whirl- Every day except Monday and Wednesday
-Kali- Every day except Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
-It's Tough To Be A Bug- Only On Saturday

Magic Kingdom Updates

~More warning signs like the one below have been added to the Splash Mountain queue.

~Astro Orbiter Work is continuing. All the rockets and some planets were removed.

~Music could be heard coming from behind the "it's a small world" construction wall.

~In case you didn't know already, the resort-wide slogan for 2005 is 2005 - WHERE THE PARTY NEVER STOPS. Here is a picture of the design:

~I'm happy to report that they made Wishes even better. The new version has the regular Wishes fireworks, with the Wishes exit music after (this is where the old show stopped). But now, after the exit music, they play a great rendition of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" followed by "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and then the Wishes exit music once more. The best part is, the castle lighting is synced up with each of the songs. If you're not in a hurry, it's great to find a seat and enjoy it all. All in all, the entire thing is about 30 minutes.

And that'll be it for today. I'll post some extra pictures in my album soon.

are you sure the post show for wishes is new? Because I remember them doing that from long times ago. In fact I remember waiting for them to replay the Wishes exit music to get a few pic's of the castle with the stars and moon on it.

Anywho, thanks for the update as well :)

I'm not sure. The first time I have heard the songs at the end was 2 weeks ago, and I saw it again tonight just to make sure. I have seen Wishes alot, and I don't ever remember it before.

Could it be they only do/did it on certain nights?

I saw it...3 times last May, and they played all of those songs after the show ended.

You are correct on the Everest hill.

Been on the Tower of Terror lately? I am told they have been upgrading the ghost effects one chamber at a time.

Hey Patrick,

Great update as usual. Got a couple of questions for ya' or anyone else who may be able to answer:

- Those versions of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" after "Wishes"...are they new renditions or have they been released on CD before?

- How bad is the castle/hub area? I'm planning on going next week and am hoping to take a relatively nice picture in front of the castle sans scaffolding.

- Where did you get that Mickey Mouse ringer tee (the one you're wearing in your photo album)? It's a cool shirt! :)

Thanks again for your updates and pics. Oh, and I know this is late, but congrats on the CM job and your cameo in the Christmas Day Parade.

This was added in November of 2003 a month after Wishes opened. In fact Reflection from Mulan was also in the playlist but was cut out for length of the exit music. The only time the full exit track is not played is at MVMCP due to the parade time following Wishes. Hope this clears it up.
A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes is from the Music In The Parks CD that was released in 1996. It is still availible to purchase online at Amaz*n. As for the other, I'm not sure.

I guess I am wrong then. Wonder why I had never heard it before. And yea, I was on TOT just a few days ago and it didn't look like anything had changed.

Joevn-It's impossible to get a picture of the castle from Main Street without the wall getting in the way (and of all colors...GREEN?!). However, you can get to the side of the wall and get a great picture of the castle. They also have the area in front of the castle stage open to get a clear view of the castle...And they have that shirt everywhere at WDW in different colors.

OH YEA.... I'm not sure if it has always been this way, but when going from Epcot to the TTC, they now make you get off the Monorail and go wait back in line. I know there were a few times when I was tired and would stay on the Monorail to relax, but it doesn't look like you can do that anymore.

Hmmm, I guess to many people were just hopping aboard the monorail for the ride and using it to get from Epcot to TTC??

The music after the Wishes fireworks is indeed true. The songs (at least "A dream is a wish...") comes from the Music from the Parks album. They had this playing while I attended WDW.

This seemed to be the policy on Jan 2nd and seemed recent to me. Disney's trying their best to keep non-paying guests off the Monorails.

I'm pretty sure that's been the policy for awhile, but it was only mandated during peak seasons--I remember being asked to get off the monorail during my President's Week trips. They must just be asking people to always get off now. Knowing Disney, it's probably an attempt to save money--if people don't stay on the monorails, they can run fewer trains at a given time.

Nice update, thanks!

I was tempted to buy one of the rather cool 2005 shirts in December, but there's just something about buying a shirt for a year I haven't visited that's just wrong.... :) Plus, I'll probably be there from 5/1-5/8 or so, thereby I get to see all the 50th celebration stuff!!! :sohappy:
