Before jumping all over me and claiming that I didn't search, I'd like to let you all know that I already did. Now on to my question: What exactly is on the island in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon near the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts? Thank you for your time and responses.

EDIT: PLEASE, FORGIVE ME! I posted this in the incorrect section of the forums.:hammer:

There is more than one island. However the two largest have the most purpose. The one nearest the Polynesian was once home to the wave machine. While the one near the MK/contemporary has a large fireworks launch site for special events and holidays.

The islands have speakers and lighting equipment. One I think also has like a little shead on it.

The speakers play the Wishes music for the pontoon boat cruises on the lake.

That area is called Beachcomers Isle. I don't think it serves much of a purpose, but I know it housed a Wave Machine that was used to put waveds at the Polynesian. It was stopped after a year because of beach erosion.

Is that the island with the old wave machine on it that was built in the 70's when the Poly opened?

How long ago did they take the wave machine out? That would have been neat to see the waves hit while on the Poly beaches...
