Is Wayne Wonka retired?

I am currently reading the Kingdom Keepers series. I've heard Wayne is a real imagineer, but he's around retirement age? Does anyone know if he is retired or not? I'm going to wdw and would really like to meet him if he isn't retired. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Wayne in the books is named after a worker at Splash Mountain. I don't know if he still works there or not, but if he is still working, he'd be found at Splash Mountain.
