Is tonga toast the same @ Kona & Captain cook's?

At Kona it is served with a strawberry compote that is delicious and adds a whole different dimension to it. Plus the atmosphere at Kona just makes the whole meal more fun. In my opinion, big difference.

Oh yes, it is still very good, I was just noting the difference. I did not bother to mention the Tonga Toast at Kona is .0023 millimeters smaller than at Captain Cooks, but felt like that was not a significant difference.

I guess I'm still a little miffed they quit letting me get my own Dole Whip. I used to make that thing a foot high. Guess that is part of the reason they quit doing it. That and the time I just dispensed it right into my cooler for the trip home!

Yes the strawberry compote is a must when eating Tonga toast for me and the hubby so we always get it at Kona Cafe! I mix the strawberry deliciousness with a little syrup and oh my goodness so delicious! I couldn't imagine the Tonga toast without it. But yes the toast itself is the same at Captain Cooks.

Had it at both CC and Kona last summer and the CC's was actually fresher (in my particular case).

That's awesome I also have to agree I can do without the strawberry compote for the price....kona cafe -$14.00, captain cooks-$6.99 with no strawberry compote...ill pick captain cooks any day of the week for that deal

I made my own homemade strawberry compote this weekend, and have decided for my next trip, I will just put some in a squeeze bottle and get the TT from Captain Cooks.

I haven't been to Captain Cook's for a few years. Question about their current menu: do any of you know if they serve Tonga Toast all day, or is it only for breakfast hours? Sometimes, I like breakfast food for lunch or even dinner, and I was wondering if there is just one, day-long menu with a variety of items, (including Tonga Toast) that can be ordered at any time during the day.

Tonga Toast (and the other breakfast items) are only offered in the morning. Around 11 a.m. the menu switches to the all-day offerings (sandwiches, flatbreads, etc.)
