I will be in the world Oct 27th-Nov 3rd. Is it just wishful thinking that I might get lucky and get into the new Fantasy Land? This will be our last trip for a very long time and I was hoping to get to take my girls on the little mermaid. I know I am dreaming but this is the place where dreams come true after all isn't it?

Previews begin on November 19. Unless you work for WDI or are willing to trespass (with your children) on the day they just happen to be testing the ride system, it will not be open at that time. The good news is that it will be there for decades to come. Enjoy the Magic Kingdom during Halloween. It's pretty awesome.

November 19th is the official date for public previews, but I don't think periodic openings of certain attractions prior to that are out of the question. So I would say you might have a slim chance, just don't count on it.

Based on the latest aerial, you would think that in a couple months things will be tidied up and just about ready to go. I would hope they would want to run Mermaid at high volume even before the preview to make sure everything runs OK.

From the latest aerials, it looks very much like they're prepping Storytime with Belle for opening ahead of the rest. I think it's more than likely at least parts of it will be open during your visit.

Look at it this way, don't expect for any of it to be open and consider it a bonus if it is!

November 19 will be a general public preview with the official opening in December.

However, there will be AP and CM previews before the November 19th date (some rumors say CM previews as early as late september to october) so there could be hope but I wouldn't count on it. Sometimes if things are going well they will do a preview where they just take random guests to the ride or randomly open it to testing for an hour or two. You have to just be in the right place at the right time to get into those though. I imagine November 19 is a soft opening meaning everyone will be able to go and they will be running the ride at capacity to test how it will do after the official opening.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up but I would imagine in the first week of November the area should bo open to at least explore.

Late October/early November is too early for a soft-opening and compared to how they opened Carsland and BVS in DCA, I think they will wait for the projected dates.

However, I believe that the castle walls will be done by then and will be revealed as soon as they're finished, and with a bit of luck it'll be before the end of October.

I don't think you can compare this to DCA. They have already demonstrated with Storybook Circus that they are willing top open the expansion in tiny increments. Opening the last two major components of the DCA refurb all at once with a big event made sense there since they were trying to make a big deal out of the grand re-opening of the park. I think the grand re-opening idea makes even less sense for Fantasyland since we still have another 1 1/2 years before it is done.

Of course you can't compare it to DCA, since they re-opened it with two whole new lands. But in the case of NFL, they are still working on the foundations and the groundwork for 7DMT, which is smack in the middle, and until they are done with the heavy-duty machinery, they can pave the path alongside TLM and connect it with SBC.

Once that path is open, it's going to be a nightmare for the construction workers and they will possibly have to work nights only, unless an overpass solution is found.

I also agree with you based on those last aerials. Why else would they put up those wood fences. It is the only reasonable explanation and i severly doubt it is for media and cm previews cause media has been in the with no fences. Plus why wouldnt they just put in movable chain link fences rather then these painted wooden ones. Something is def going on over there. When the splash park opened they had the fence up behind it about a week before they took down the fence in front of it. So who knows what is going to open and when it will open but i am convinced they are going to be opening something soon. Especially with the gate that is blocking the way to belle's village.
