Oh come on it's a great song. However, in the context of the theme park stage musical, it does slow down the pacing of the show. But I do think it's a gorgeous song that should have been incorporated into the new Broadway production.

Is it worse than Aladdin's teleportation in One Jump Ahead? Or the bad lip syncing stunt doubles on the magic carpet? Or the demon Genie heads the ensemble wear during Friend Like Me? Or the awkward silence the other actors are forced into while the Genie stops the show cold to make year old pop culture references directly to the audience? Or where Aladdin suddenly forgets he's in a show and asks the audience what to do with the lamp as if he was a complete idiot?

Bye Aladdin.

Lots of valid points here.

But the thing that bugs me the most about Aladdin is the part where Aladdin and Jasmine go on their magic carpet ride in 10th century Arabia and somehow fly past St. Basil's Cathedral that wasn't built until the mid 1500's, and the Eiffel Tower which wasn't built until 1889.

They are apparently able to time travel centuries into the future, as well as fly. Maybe as a nice counterpoint to the Eiffel Tower from the 1889 Paris World's Fair, they could have also added in the Space Needle from the 1962 Seattle World's Fair?

They should have just included Disneyland's castle from 1955 while they were at it.

Aladdin overstayed its welcome by a good 8 or 9 years. Let's hope the next big show here only runs through 2019, with a replacement for 2020.

Isn't it lip-synced?
I'm pretty sure it isn't because I have heard different actresses sound different. I THINK that some of the chorus is lip-synced but that the leads all belt out their own vocals. My understanding is that on rare occasions when an understudy is used that a vocal track is substituted, but that per contract the actors usually perform their own songs. I have read multiple times over the years that the actors are members of a union that negotiates all of this.

Can anyone else confirm this?

If you think that's weird, in the Broadway show they flat out go into space. I guess Carpet is so magical they don't need oxygen either?

And the Paris scene is an obvious missed opportunity to include Remy and Marie cameos. #synergy #Disneyside

I really don't have any problems with the show. Overall it's well done and far beyond what you would get at 99% of any other "theme park." But, as others have said, it's overstayed it's welcome and time to move on.

Ever heard of the Aladdin set in the future theory?

I love that show. The dumb jokes. Jago being attached to a guys arm. The time differential. And even the castmember in the wheelchair. I just wish I'd get there early enough for a seat on the main floor.
