Is the Zach Riddley social media experiment over?

So another media event has come and gone, and no sign of Imagineer Zach Riddley. Is the social media experiment to position him as the new face of WDI and the new Joe Rohde over?

Any thoughts?

He was over EPCOT, correct? I know yesterday focused on Tron but there was plenty of EPCOT news dropped. He does seem to be taking a much lower profile lately

Tough to answer a question about an elaborate conspiracy you just made up. He was a lead imagineer who posts on Instagram, and he is still a lead imagineer who posts on Instagram, maybe slightly less often recently. Nothing has changed.

Not a chance. That type of singular personality and a channel to release and discuss things that were NOT public knowledge doesn't just happen from employees who post on social media on their own whim.

The EPCOT project he was over has winded down and he didn’t really post a lot about other WDW stuff, so I don’t think there’s anything here.

That, or they let go the PR staff who were really posting to the accounts. 😉

Dude, we know for a fact that he wasn’t just a guy posting on Instagram.

He is the lead imagineer of three Disney theme parks. The posts revealing stuff were reviewed by Disney’s marketing team (we have proof of that), but there’s no reason to believe he wasn’t and isn’t posting on his own accord, to his relatively few followers. It was a very niche thing.

So if you say 'posts revealing stuff were reviewed by Disney marketing' - then he's not just posting just on his own accord. He's posting in coordination with social media and marketing management.

More than likely the staff that helped write his stuff probably got laid off.

He started posting during Covid, when none of those people would’ve been employed anyway.

I think we are overestimating how much the marketing folks would be invested in this. No doubt he ran his stuff past them before posting, but there was never a “social media experiment to position him as the new face of WDI and the new Joe Rohde,” and the fact that he didn’t show up at an event for a project he had no involvement in means literally nothing.
