Is the California adventure makeover worth it?

A LOT of things have been changing at California Adventure. From the Sun Wheel to California Screamin', to Goofy's Sky Skool, and Cars Land. Do you think this approach to "Disney Characters"(as people have asked for) will work?

While I was a fan of the original DCA, I think retooling their theme will be welcomed by the market in DCA. I am looking forward to seeing the final product. It will be interesting to see if it will bring in more locals, or if the locals will still gravitate mainly to DL.

By next summer everyone will see why its worth it, with the Pier Finally redone (almost every part of it) the new Paradise gardens/park, Little Mermaid and Goofy's Fly School. That side of the park will look like a True Disney park.
Then the next year we get the new main street, the red cars, and Cars land opens.

Then once we go to Phase 2, Condor Flats will be rethemed to look more like a forest, we get the a rumored E-ticket ride (hopefully), The Hyperion will get a real lobby, and hopefully the rest of Hollywood land will get some rethemes too......and then you have a Disney Park that can stand up against some of the better parks in the world.

Based on the work that has been done so far, and the rest of the additions that are coming up in the future.. i'd say yes, it is worth it.

I think they're hoping to attract tourists and out-of-state visitors. The locals have always been there, their attendance has never really been an issue.. In fact, i'd venture to say that on most occasions locals will gravitate more towards DCA.. Special events like Glow Fest have been a big hit with repeat visitors, I imagine the same will be true for ElecTRONica opening in a couple of weeks.

I absolutely think it is worth it. While not a DCA hater, I found the park to be very, well..........boring. The feeling of being transported to another place was missing, despite some very cool attractions. I can see myself building a full DCA day into my trips when it's all done. With TLM, and the Cars Racers attractions, the park will have 5 or 6 "must see" experiences for me. More than that for me, however, is the wonderful excitement of a Disney Park that draws me in and gives me experiences that you cannot find anywhere else. DCA didn't do that for me before, but watching the additions gives me hope that it will in the future. It's money well spent.

It's fun too that they seem to be plussing up some of the concept art vs. cutting the details. Look at SSS! It looks much better than the concept art!

Hopefully that approach will continue.

I've always enjoyed DCA.
But with the massive changes, it'll finally be the superb, high quality park it should've been from the beginning.
I hate to say it, but it really was built "on the cheap" in the beginning. That will hardly be the case in the near future.
