Is something happening with La Nouba?

While planning my trip, I see that La Nouba is not playing for 2 full weeks in May (5/14-5/29)

Just wondering if there is a reasoning for this? Is this an every year thing? Could they be changing the show?

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Of course maintenance when I'm there!! My only option is the 13th, 4 hours after we land in Florida otherwise we can't see the show.

Bummer! I would do it but we drive. With flying you never know what can happen. That's s tough call. And not sure if that's what the 2 week break is for but in the past when it was closed for 2 weeks that was why. :)

Pity that as it's a fabulous show (best I've ever seen). You could always just turn up on the day and see if there's tickets still available, we've done that several times. That way if your plane is late you won't have lost anything and if there's no tickets you could at least enjoy a meal at DS anyway?

Hmm I've never thought of that, how's pricing last minute?

When we've just turned up on spec we've found tickets available near the back at either sides available which are usually the low price ones. The view has been very good even from there, you can get a price idea by going online and seeing if there's anything left today for example.

Ohh ok, so prices are the same and not higher for last minute, just depends on what's available. That's good to know. But it makes me wonder if I should just plan something that I know I can make it to? Hmmm decisions decisions..

The viewing is decent even if you can't get the better seating. Over the years I've found fewer crowds attending the shows, ( maybe because there hasn't been many major changes to the acts), so you should be able to get tickets at the box office upon your arrival. There is no difference in price by buying at the venue, but you should be there at least 1/2 hour before the performance. But the info I've seen says shut down is for May 16th - 29th, has there been added dates that Disney hasn't posted?

Good luck with whatever you decide, it's a magnificent show though

I could take a plane that lands @ 4:15pm in MCO do you think I should be clear for the 9pm show?

I fly in on the 13th which is a Saturday, and the next show isn't until the 30th. I'm pretty sure Sunday/Monday (14th&15th) are the regularly scheduled day's that they don't do performances so it's probably not a part of the dates you're seeing because of that.

Yeahh, I didn't look at the calendar, just the info dates on the site, not thinking about that .... . If you land on time, I'd think you would have time to get settled in and get to La Nouba.

For what it's worth, I saw La Nouba on Saturday night for the first time (really enjoyed it by the way!) and received a survey in my email today about the show. It asked a lot of questions about my expectations, and then if my experiences lived up to my expectations. It went into detail about how I enjoyed some of the technical elements - sort of like the ROL survey that was posted on the WDWMAGIC home page today (lighting, sound, projection, costumes) and asked about the performances, such as which ones I liked and disliked. It was a pretty thorough survey, and even asked if Cirque du Soleil could send me an email with a more specific survey. Not sure if Disney is just looking for feedback on the show, or if they are in the early phases of making a change, or both.

Also, despite the fact that Disney Springs was fairly crowded, the 9:00 show only played to maybe 1/4 to 1/3 capacity of the theater - it looked like there were many empty seats in all sections. I wonder if every show is like that, and if so, if they're making enough profit to cover the show's expenses.

It has been struggling in recent years with attendance, even in spite of the fact two new acts were brought in last winter.

I hate to admit it because I do like this show and we have seen it multiple times now once each in 2004, 2007, 2010, and most recently in September 2016. Still, my wife and I both felt that we did not enjoy it as much last year as we did on the three previous occasions.

It was an amazing show, but maybe it is just "getting a little old" now and for those of us who have seen it multiple times not worth the price of seeing it again and again. I would recommend it for those who have never seen it, but I doubt we will be planning to include it on future trips. Others may feel the same and this would certainly contribute to declining attendance.
