Is Rivers of light at AK an open air show?

Maybe I’m not explaining it right but I wanted to know if it’s like the fireworks at MK & Illuminations at Epcot where you can walk up & just see it or like Fantasmic where you have to enter an area to be able to view it.

Pretty sure you get best viewing in seating area. Too many trees and things to block you fro seeing it around the body of water its in.

Def more like Fantasmic

It's like Fantasmic, you need to be seated in one of the viewing areas in order to see. It's mostly floats on the water so nothing to see in the sky.

The best views are without question in the reserved seating areas, but you can still definitely see the show from just standing in certain other “public” areas.
