Is MNSSHP good for toddlers?

Would a 3 year old enjoy it? Do most of the activities go on too late for him to enjoy? I don't know if we were there if it would be worth getting tickets.

ok... I know I am in the minority..... BUT personally I do not think it is worth the added expense. But that is just me. My son went at 3 we have good pics... but he does not remember it and it was very expensive for characters and candy. You have to realize you are paying for the park and the admission price and if you already have a hopper you really do not need park admission. If it were me we would go do something else like a good character meal or Mickeys Backyard :)

We loved it! I think the parade and the fireworks were especially neat. And there were all kinds of unusual characters out, we met Bowler Hat Guy from meet the Robinsons... As for the candy part, the kids got so much it was kind of staggering and I could've done without that. They were giving out healthy options too and we ended up with many boxes of raisins and apple slices. Our daughter was 3 the first time we went and she doesn't remember it at all. But we all had a great time. We went in September too so the party wasn't too busy.

It is expensive so you have to decide if its in your budget and if your just going to show your 3 year old a good time it might not be worth it. But if the adults in your group are into meeting the villains, seeing Hallowishes and the parade then it might be worth it for you. It was for us! I think closer to Halloween they may do that stuff every night even when they aren't doing the party so that might be a good option for you.

I honestly don't think so. They're going to miss everything except maybe the parade, if they feel like looking at that...and a daytime parade would be just as interesting.

Plus, unless you have the child on a night schedule, you have to keep them up sooo late.

Me, personally, I wouldn't take a toddler. Not to say there is anything wrong with it! I just wouldn't bother.

No, they only do party stuff on party nights.

At Christmas, they do much of the party stuff for free right around Christmas, but Halloween...you go to the party or you miss the party stuff.

Not sure why they do different things for different holidays! But they do. :)

it depends what your goal is. if it is just for the kid to have a good time, yes he will. if it is for him to realize and remember he did the party, it's not worth the price. he won't remember. and to him it will be no different than any other day in the park.
if, on the other hand, it's for you guys to enjoy the halloween party, go for it! we took my grandson at 8 months old. clearly he had no understanding, but he was the cutest eeyore ever (no prejudice there). WE, and that was our goal, WE had a great time.
so if you would like to enjoy the party, go. if it's all about him, and you will get there sometime again when he is older, i'd hold off. but ain't nothing wrong with enjoying yourselves!

Last year, he was Capt Hook. Especially if CH would be there, I would love to get photos of them. And from I understand, CH isn't a character that is usually roaming around WDW.

I know he probably won't remember it. But the rest of us would, and the pics. Still debating if all this is worth all that extra $$$$. B/c it is very pricey.

I've not seen Hook during MNSSHP, but he's there everyday doing meet and greets across from POTC in front of the Tortuga Tavern.

For adults, it's worth it, but I don't think it's worth it for a 3-year old. And, I know it's suppose to be "not so scary", but there are zombies, and grave diggers in the parade who are quite scary. Nothing else is scary though.

Our DD was a month shy of 4 on our trip last September when we went to MNSSHP & she had so much fun that she wants to go to it again! Although, I don't! We met the 7 dwarves, watched the Parade, trick-or-treated, rode the HM, & watched Hallowishes. The night goes really fast & there is sooooooooooo many people there. We attended a party on a Tuesday in September.

We are taking our kids who will be 2.5 and 4.5. The parades are at 8:15 and 10:30 and the fireworks are at 9:30. How does your kid do with spooky things and characters? My kids don't mind spooky things like Haunted Manson.

We took our DD when she was 2, then a year later when she was 3. We took her because we wanted to go and enjoy ourselves with all the characters and candy. And we did.

At 2 she did NOT like the fireworks, but fell to sleep during them anyway. She loved meeting the characters, riding things in the dark, dancing to music, and best of all the parade. We got her a nap in the afternoon and she lasted very nicely.

At 3 she was ok with fireworks, loved parade, characters etc. Really got into it. Again grabbed her a good nap in afternoon and she lasted until we were walking out of park at midnight. Just slept in the next day.

We have booked to do it again this year now she is 6, and she is bossing us as to who we are all going as and what we are doing.

She may not remember the 2 parties she has done, but we do. We remember all the cast members loving on her and making her feel like the best kid in the world. Its priceless.

If you can afford to do it and not miss out on other things instead then I say why not. It's the experience that counts.

Not sure I follow this. You need park admissions for one of the parks, right? And you'd still have to leave the MK at 7pm, even if you had park hopper. You'd need the MNSSHP tickets if you want to stay in the MK past 7pm, right?

I'd go for it if the child is between 3.5-4, but skip it if they're closer to 3. I only have my MVMCP experience as a gauge, but we took our younger one shortly after she turned 2 and let's just say I'm happy she was free. The kids had a lengthy nap pre-party and had been doing so well with late nights in the parks on normal nights, but she was just all out of sorts for the whole party thing. On the flipside, back when I was planning her 4th birthday trip for last Nov...I'd thought about a MNSSHP trip instead since I felt she was ready as an older 3 yr old. So, it may just be considering the specific child and base the decision on that.

It depends on several factors. His temperament, sleep habits, how he is effected by fireworks or possible over-stimulation of just so much going on, and how he acts when he becomes tired (will he fall asleep anywhere or does he need a quiet and subdued atmosphere to rest). I would also factor in how well he does when you deviate off of his nighttime routine. Your expectations of the evening come into play too. Do you hope to make through the entire party or are you fine with going home whenever (if ever) he wants to leave?
