Is MK really painted every night?

For a while now, I have been hearing that MK is painted every night. Is this true? I know that Disney is known for their cleanliness and their fondness for detail, but I find this hard to believe. I mean, it wouldn't be doubtful if maybe they did this once a week, but every night?:hammer:

There was a recent article regarding Disneyland that detailed how much work is invested into that park nightly, including some painting. I don't know whether the story is the same with MK.

I always heard the story about the guy who stripped and painted one lamppost each night. He would continue to move down Mainstree USA untill he reached the castle then work his way back on the other side. I never knew if this was true or if this was just a story to demonstrate the attention to detail.

I downloaded a video from #disney-central from the NBC station in Orlando that showed some of the things that went on behind the scenes overnight in the MK. It was very interesting. They were working their way down Main St., scraping and repainting the wood trim on the outside of the stores and they dug up cement that cracked and were repouring concrete that would be dry by opening time.

They were using some heavy duty cherry pickers and concrete equipment.

Very neat to see.

Wow! That's a lot of work! I had no idea they did that.

Also, the boards look really different.

Yeah, they do a crap load of work at night, but for the most part, it is all touch up. If anythhing is cracked, peeling, fading or somehting along those lines they will do their best to fix it over night. God bless 3rd shift, we would be lost without them.

touch up and minor maintenance is done generally in the third shift, but they won't hesitate to do it in guest view if needed. But Disney doesn't just repaint everything every night.... that'd look worse than bad paint, having "wet paint" signs all day every day, and the horrible look that TOO many layers of paint has.
