Is it possible to buy just a magic band not linked to anything? my kids have Disney Infinity and if you put a magic+ band on the portal it unlocks a dragon and some other stuff we have seen online. I wouldn't even mind borrowing one from someone if I knew of someone who went just to do this for my kids lol. Anyways cheers!

Not from within the parks. It must be linked at time of sale to a ticket. You will have to go the unofficial route as indicated above.

Actually, retail bands can be activated in a "Link-It Later" state, so that you can do it yourself later.

Edit: But I guess they aren't going to be doing this at launch?
