Is it me or are they de-smellifying WDW?

Got back from a wonderful trip to WDW the first week of the year, but it seemed like there were a lot of smells missing. Of course there was no smell of burning Rome, but there was hardly any smelliness in Philharmagic...Soarin seemed to be pretty low key on the smells and then no stink in Tough to be a bug. We went back a couple of days later and sat in a different part of the theatre in TTBAB and still no stink. Am I just imagining this or are they de-smellifying the place?

I've had various experiences with the scents in shows and rides. Sometimes it's very strong and sometimes it's almost unnoticeable. Although I've never not noticed a smell at all. Maybe it has to do with where you sit? Maybe some of the "scent machines" (sorry I don't know the techinical term) just don't work as strongly as others.

Try Vick Vapor in your nostrils, you may have a blocked nose. For all these not to be working seems rare ( at the same time ) but who knows ?

Now that you mention it, its been a long time since i actually smelled anything from the stinkbug in ITTBaB or the Figment skunk in JII.

I've kinda noticed that too. The only smells i really noticed was while walking around the parks and the high volume of perfume some women douse themselves with. (Too too much.)

Oh yeah, we sat in the first row in Stitch and we didn't smell any chilidogs. I would say it was my nose, but my entire family noticed the same lack of smells (or low intensity like in Philharmagic). It was so subtle in Philharmagic that when we asked my daughter's friend (a first time visitor) if she smelled the apple pie, she said no.

Sometimes the canister may need replacement or the smell-O-Vision stand is not working. They tend to break every now and then.
